Could not have said it better myself......different league to Tyson and like you said, the heavyweights that were around then I don't think has ever been equaled since. Ali was just pure class...........Elvis & Ali, possibly the most influential entertainers of all time!
Who was great in your eyes that Tyson beat...that is the question? I think Ali would have floored Tyson inside 2 rounds....Don't talk about Ali being slow......he was very quick in his day.....Different era I grant you.......but Ali was in a different league.
My second comment, everybody is entitled to their heroes, my boxing hero was Henry Cooper, I met him once, an enormous man with hands like frying pans, a real gentle giant, he floored Muhammad and the result was questionable over the split glove but let's move on, Muhammad was more than a boxer or entertainer, he had principles, he demanded equality, he went to jail, he stood up against the state over Vietnam, he changed his religion and stood by it, a wonderful man in a time of struggle, worked for charities and never, ever hid away in his entire life. I loved him, I admired him and I get a bit pissed off when he is compared with a bullying thug, come rapist, he really was a complete human being in my opinion.
Tyson met his ali when he fought lennox lewis ( one of the most underated heavyweights) and we all know what happened then.
Agree on Tyson V Ali There is no comparison. Ali in his prime would have tied the brute in knots. Round 5 I would say...
I met 'enery at a Celeb's bowling match back in the late 80s. He was stood in front of me in a queue to buy a beer. His Friend "What are you doin' these days 'enery ?" 'enery "Oooh, bit a this, bit a that, one door opens another one closes…." Whats not to love about Henry Cooper ?
