I never said I was told the whole story, neither was Donald by the look of it. And, would you believe, the story has changed as people have negotiated and shifted positions ... ... as happens with almost every deal.
I was told the whole story about Methven going but not every detail about the intentions of FPP ... ... seriously man, stop and think before you jump in. You seem absolutely desperate to prove some kind of point but, as usual, I've no idea what it is. Instead of obsessing about me, and constantly derailing the thread, why not talk about the subject .... ... Methven has gone.
They all bottle it when the going gets tough and bugger off, we are here for life ! if Maja had stayed this would not have happened.
Apparently this is what has been said in the RAWA meeting. "The area is doomed and the thing is you dont understand is most Sunderland fans are unbelievably uneducated" I think. "In a business sense"
So you don't know if it's a takeover? Gotcha. In all seriousness because I know you take things to heart x... I agree with GOM on this, the most likely explanation for this is that he's ****ing tired and him snapping at fans recently is because he's at the end of his tether. As a PR guy, you can't have him alienating fans the way he has, and he has clearly got to the point where whatever is bugging him (having to do work?) is becoming more than it's worth to him. I doubt his job is 'fun', per se. As someone who is in the process of doing something similar (mrs moving up here from London) I can sympathise with his problem if that's the case.
Several (although I must stress not all by any means) of the non-league club owners that I have come across seem to be in it for the ego trip and revel in being told that they're the big man and how wonderful they are. I know that they packaged it as 'openness' and 'communicating with the fans' but, as they came from non-league, I wonder if Stewie and Charlie thought they'd get the same thing but on a much bigger scale with us. Its turned out that it's not like that and is actually much more pressurised than they thought and that's what's lead to Charlie's angry outbursts.
Absolutely nothing I said would lead a normal person to that conclusion. It seems that, not only are you are incapable of making a point, you're incapable of getting the point To help you let me quote someone who works for the club and posts what he believes he can, as do I, on RTG. "sorry mate. It’s my livelihood on the line if I blurt stuff directly. But the upcoming (and first) board meeting under the current owners should be a lively one!! hopefully it quickens their takeover. Today is good news"
If he's actually said that I'm gobsmacked nobody has stood up and grabbed a hold of him. Cheeky bastard.
Ha Ha. I’d forgot Ive got his recipient on ignore and thought he might have been replying to me ! I was just about to hit the “Here we go” button
Yeah I agree with this really. Neither of them strike me as the type who will stay excited when the going gets tough. They thought they could be a bit cavalier, impress the locals etc. To them it probably felt like 'can't lose' territory, particularly as there was the unusual ability to avoid having to have the cash in the bank to get started. As for @Smug in Boots I'll leave his ego alone. Maybe FPP will buy us now that his 'staffing issue' has been resolved.
I think to some extent they were right to try to be more connected with the fans. I think they didn't bank on how much scrutiny their every word be subjected to though. It's probably been much harder work than they expected.
