They haven't got a clue how to run a football club.

Really hope SD just gets sick and let's the Americans take control.

Didn't he have a similar fall out with fans at Oxford?

So you think now they'll do a full takeover because Methven is gone?

If it was a stumbling block to the takeover, why wait? Methven wouldn't (it seems) have put him and his 6% ahead of profit, so if FPP were offering to buy them out if only he stepped down, and the alternative was likely being forced out at some point in the future, why even bother with the loan?

You could be right I'm just speculating. It'll be interesting to see what happens next, we'll need a new PR person in sooner rather than later because it's not great at the moment.

The statement says he’s keeping his 6% shares but I think he’ll just try and get a better price from either SD, Sartori or the Yanks. I’d rather he went altogether.

Maybe a few home truths about our support is what's needed.. Regardless of this, the personal abuse he has endured is totally disgusting.

You can't make him sell his shares though (well you can, but not in this case) unless there's a bidder. Does SD want them? He or Sartori would have to buy them at a value closer to what they're asking, otherwise they're essentially saying that the club hasn't gone up in value from the £15m he paid. At £40m valuation that's about £2.5m that Donald would appear less than inclined to fork out for...

I don't agree with you this time.

Telling us to leave it to the southerners is just downright insulting and has no home truths, at all.

He has responded to the awful abuse he has suffered though.. This statement obviously by someone who is at the end of his tether.

This was at a RAWA meeting, are you telling us he did this in response to folk at said meeting hurling abuse at him?

He's been having a dig at fans for months now. Slating us at every turn

Do the Americans have a clue how to run a football club?

Serious question - what precisely do you know about them? They're rich. That's about it. Ellis Short is rich. Relatively speaking Stewart Donald is rich

I know nothing about the Americans and all I want is what's best for the club.as do we all. I don't know for certain that the Americans will be - I also don't see what precisely SD has done wrong - Methven is (as stated in @Smug in Boots thread) someone who likes talking his "Billy Big Bollocks" style up.

I don't know the ins and outs of it all, at all, but the club is a shambles and is becoming a bit of a laughing stock. Who on earth would want to sign for us in January?

The vast majority footballers won't have a ****ing clue about the background stuff at our club and they won't have a clue who Methven is either

I'd take a chance on the Americans making good appointments to run the club for them. At the minute we have Stewart Donald who only appears to want to appoint people from ****ing Eastleigh. Stewart Donald does not have a clue how to run a football club, its no surprise he also failed at Eastleigh despite having big money for that level, sooner he sells the club, the better.

With these guys it's not just the money it's also their knowledge and connections.

They are elite level businessmen and if they don't know something about football I'm pretty sure they will get someone who does to run the club.

Plus they are already involved with the Miami Marlins whatever the **** sport that is so they aren't diving in blindly. They seem more hard nosed and savvy than Short too, who looking back acted more like a rich but foolish uncle than a ruthless businessman.

It's worth reading up on their involvement with the Miami Marlins. They way they've invested there is very different to what people seem to think they'll do with SAFC.
