Writing has been on the wall for awhile I think - just from listening to him speak and the stuff he's said
Methven has already gone mate, officially leaves on Thursday. Once he'd criticised our support he was a dead man walking.
Hmm. I wonder if things are all unravelling a bit for Stewie and the others. Maybe this is related to Sartori becoming more involved. Or it could open the doors for the Americans to step in.
My info was that Methven was always the stumbling block which I posted on both boards. This was the 'staffing issue' I kept hinting at as obviously as I could. He had a lot less to lose than Donald. Let's just hope the Americans take his shares.
It'll come out from RAWA mate, best if they repeat it. I was sworn to secrecy yesterday and it's killed me not being able to post.
I'd say it's more likely the Americans, since they got involved Ross left and now Methven, I'd say they were behind both. Sartori I believe has put more money in but I get the feeling his interest lies elsewhere.
So if the American's were behind Ross and Methven leaving then I'd think it would be fair to expect that they were also behind the appointment of PP?
Wouldn't be surprised. All this is it a loan, is it a placeholder thing over the 10 million quid is a bit weird though. If they're going to get involved, what's the point of tiptoeing round the edges? Just wade in boys.
You'd have to expect that some sort of golden handshake has happened. He didn't strike me as the type of bloke who was prepared to walk from this without making a few quid for himself. Hopefully, as you say the American's snap up the shares. Rather them than SD.
Just seen Ghandi Floss over there mention and there it is and has hinted at things at the meeting on Wednesday but he hasn't gone further into it. Be interesting when/if it all comes out to hear what has been said
What happened at the RAWA meeting? Sounds like he may have ended up in a pickle re: the details of all this?
IF that is true (and chances are it is half truths again) then it's a massive thing to have done. Good riddance. Haven't really seen much he has brought to the table after the first 6 months
They might have specified someone with experience who seemed a safe bet, the length of time it took to appoint him and would be consistent with the careful approach the Americans have been taking. Hard to imagine them being adamant about Parkinson like. Yeah if they're behind Methven leaving you'd think they'd be more involved already but I guess they've got their reasons. Seems unlikely Donald would have sacked Methven of his own accord and Smug says he was always a sticking point so maybe they're moving in ahead of schedule now we're drifting away from the top two and the players are getting booed.
We don't know yet though. The timing is super weird and I believe there was a meeting scheduled this week or next where they would 'see how the club was run' or some such interpretation. What is most likely is that he's just sick of it. He has barely concealed disdain for us, it's all been based on a patronising 'let the rich people who understand how to make money do what they like with your club, and you'll be fine' attitude. Think Donald will very much struggle now though from a PR perspective. The Roker Rapport podcast in May that I've listened to dozens of times ( ) felt like Methven desperately trying to stop Stewart saying something calamitous every 5 minutes
