To be fairer, he doesnt have a clue about much to be honest. Just talks in childish non sequiturs and does a lot of swearing with brackets and doh faces.
Hilarious. Not quite as funny as when your fans were saying exactly that about King Kenny though, was it?
Honestly, I think the board and many fans would give Moyes time even if we had a bad season and finished outside the top 4. The important thing would be that there would be the hope (& expectation) that things would improve. I don't think the board would do a Chelsea or Man City and overreact after one bad season under a brand new manager, unless something significant happened that wasn't purely results related. If, for example, we have a bad season and it seemed that Moyes was totally out of his depth or had totally lost the dressing room then you expect the board to have a closer look at his position, but I don't see that happening. He has plenty of experience and we have strong characters in our squad that won't let the players get out of hand even if results dip this season.
This. Moyes is not incompetent. He has got to get used to the expectations and learn about the strength and weaknesses of his players . I honestly think he underestimated WBA and the players were really not up for it on Saturday. I cannot imagine him doing the same mistake again. What the last few weeks has shown (IMO) is that the players need to be gee'ed up to perform for all the matches. SAF got them to perform for every premiership match. No need to rev themselves up for the big fish. In that sense Hansen has got a point. We cannot slide into a situation where players pick and choose the match they are going to give 100%. A bit like previous scousers teams which would beat top teams but then lose points against so called lesser clubs. That is the reason why they have been lingering in mid table. The dismissal of all the backroom staff was not wise. Because this means every one (from f**king Woodward down) is learning about the club and the players ...
To give an opinion from outside the top 4 (and Liverpool) I think: 1) Fergie chose this year to retire because he knew (a) the squad was in decline and (b) he knew there weren't sufficient funds to do another rebuilding job. 2) Moyes is the wrong appointment for Man Utd - this might sound stupid but he doesn't look right in the dug out at OT and he doesn't come across as a Man Utd manager - see Woy arriving at Anfield, it never looked or felt right from the start. 3) 442 is no way to compete at the top end of European football and trying to accommodate Rooney up front isn't working. 4) Moyes isn't brave enough to drop players who have been mainstays under Fergie. There's some good young players at Utd but he's too scared to play them (see Rogers at L'pool as a brave manager prepared to give youth a chance). 5) Ashley Young - one of the worst footballers I've ever seen play for you He needs to be brave, and he needs to set the team up better and he needs to have a good plan b and c. I'd line up like this: --------------De Gea--------------- Rafael----Vidic-------Jones----Evra (In my opinion both full backs need replacing) ---------Carrick----Fellaini---------- Zaha--------Rooney--------Januzaj -----------Van Persie---------------
Your opinion is as valid as the next man's. But it is still an opinion. I do not think that SAF retired because his sqaud was in decline. He was going to retire once he had captured the title from City. He wanted to leave on a high. Your first team is not bad. Very close to mine. Although I would not throw in Januzaj and Zaha just yet. They are certainly better than he likes of Young and Anderson
