If we cannot get a young manager what is the harm getting a proven winner in to steady the ship and move us forward?

I see no issue having someone like van Gaal. Hes one of the most successful managers in football ffs. Hes also mental and has authoritarian rule. Its his football club much like the last major success we had.

Hes by no means my first choice but hes a great manager. He might hurt a few egos though... so what!

I could definitely see Rooney being shown the door if we get Van Gaal, he will not tolerate player power whatsoever. He's known to be fairly ruthless, and not frightened of upsetting anyone. Problem is we allowed Moyes to put him on a 300k a week contract, so not many sides will want him if they have to pay those wages:biggrin:

Exactly why I see little issue with him.

Rooneys also not on 300k btw.

I think it's going to be Van Gaal, he's the safest option for the board. I can't help think Klopp will end up Arsenal manager when Wenger finally goes and we will be thinking **** he could of been our manager.

Thank goodness someone other than a Moyes ex-lover started this thread.<whistle>

Every United supporter should now give thanks that Moyes is sacked, even though that decision should have been made months ago, when there was a chance of recovery in the league.

The one thing that sticks in the throat, however, is that Moyes takes with him £5M of club funds:steam:

I think Klopp might go to Barcelona this summer. Wenger will be at Arsenal for a while longer I reckon

BBC are reporting that Phil Neville will also be at the club until the end of the season.

My concern over appointing van gaal would be his involvement with the Dutch squad. Surely this will hinder our transfer options unless of course this has been on the cards for some time.

I wonder wether were still going to try to buy the likes of Kroos, Carvalho, and Shaw now Moyes has gone. The board may just buy the players, and give them to Van Gaal at the start of the season. He's worked with Kroos before, so doubt he'll object to him. It would make Kroos more likely to come to as Van Gaal gave him his debut

<laugh> seriously?! Talk about clutching at straws.
