i meant more the style of football gerrez than the actual manager, just used him as an example. we know they have some talent in that team, but bring in a manager who doesn't suit the players style was odd, how many was impressed with moyes getting fellaini lol.
He turned the Champions into a 7th placed side and will get £10m payoff now http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-boss-huge-prize-failure-Moyes-today-10m.html
is laughable how rewarded now days you get in footie for being a failure. i would get a p45 and a polite **** off if i was that ****e, but to get £10 mill pay off, absolute tragedy to the way the game is going.
Fair enough We all know Moyes won't be going back to Everton so in that regard, I was joking. But I could see them being interested in Martinez; good young manager that's gets the team playing good football etc. We all know how they like to follow our example too
He won't get £10m imo. What I suggested yesterday appears to be the case i.e. that his failure to secure CL football activated a clause in his contract that allowed United to terminate his contract without paying him up in full. Rumours are that he'll be lucky to get 12 months salary, still not bad for abject failure like.......
I'd be inclined to agree with that. I think it was clear Moyes would be sacked weeks ago but the club hung on knowing it would be cheaper to get rid once CL was out of reach.
Winning the league will be small consolation for this now. It's taken the gloss off our achievements this season, imho. Not.
I argued for year Moyes wasn't good enough for Everton, so no way was he anywhere near utd standards, which fergie well knew. I usually feel sympathy for sacked managers but not in this case, his arrogance blinded him!
And his views on clubs taking the piss out of Everton by tapping up and undervaluing their players went out of the window.
In all seriousness; would Fergie knowingly pick a successor that he expected to under-perform in order to maintain his own legendary status? I'm not saying I disagree, because I obviously don't know, but it seems extraordinarily self-seeking even for someone with his monumental ego. On the other hand, if he did think he was right, he must have been the only person in football who didn't know that Moyes was utterly wrong for the job. Baffling.
Fergie wanted another him. Unfortunately fergie was naive and didnt realise Fergies are rare. Very rare indeed. We'll never see one again imo.
i honestly think he has lost his touch, i reckon he thought moyes was good enough, and it would have enhanced his reputation if he had of got it right, so i just think he was a bit naive in that sense. should have done what we did with shanks and then paisley taking over, do it from within the club, but not sure if they have anyone who could have done that.
I agree, probably. Which is why I don't think Utd should be too sure that a new man will take them straight back to the top. There's a lot of uncertainty here. When Fergie announced his retirement I said that, all rivalries apart, it would be fascinating to see where Utd go from here, and this season hasn't disappointed. The automatic assumption of some of the fans and media that Utd have some "right" to stay at the top because they've been there so long is misplaced. A mistake the older LFC fans remember only too well. Take nothing for granted.
