More and more he sounds like someone but I can't put my finger on it............ http://www.lfchistory.net/Articles/Article/3279
Then why compare everything a LFC fan says to their Hodgson era you fleshpole ? Either back the manager or don't, but don't change your mind after every result.
There are parallels between Hodgson and Moyes: the tactical ineptitude, the lack of footballing direction the press faux pas, etc. There are, however, two main differences that I see. 1) Hodgson did not take over a team which had won the premiership the year before by 11 points. 2) Moyes brought in a strong midfielder, which United needed (he's not been correctly utilized but he can fill an obvious hole in your midfield). Moyes also brought in Mata: Chelsea's player of the season ... twice! Hodgson brought in Konchesky. I still think Moyes can do a decent job at united but he needs a few transfer windows to establish his 'team' and his tactics. However, he could just become a sacrificial lamb of a manager, a la Hodgson. Moyes (< 1 year) is being unfairly compared to Ferguson (20+yrs). The next manager in (should you go that ill-advised route) will be compared to Moyes. I'd prefer to be the latter, obviously. The next manager in will still have pressure, but less than Moyes has had. I'm not going to lie and say I haven't enjoyed your current woes a little bit (let's be fair, though, you guys still crow about our lack of recent league titles ... and it's been 20 years!), but I'd prefer to be battling for the title against Man Utd. I hope we continue with our improvement, but I also hope Man United improve under Moyes. I don't think we'll win the premiership this year, but if we ever win the league again it would be much more sweet to do it by beating Man Utd into second place. Just my opinion, chaps.
