What would you expect? He came into a newly promoted club with a very young squad. Most of which were playing in league 1 last season. You say sack him if we want to move up, but, let’s say he has us where we are now, would you say he’s failed? Surely you don’t sack someone for succeeding? And yes, I’d say mid table is a success this season. Big success
Or you get “it’s not my job to know” or “the club should know” well they seemingly (according to those posters) didn’t know a large number of previous times and oniyngot it right once. I have little to no time for people like that
Exactly, he was quick to comment about getting rid of TM and then quick to respond to my previous message yet still hasnt answered my original question about who he wants
I've always tried to be positive about the club and realistic about expectations. I have bought into the approach being adopted and look forward to our club having proper foundations that we build on year on year, we now have a young, exciting squad that can improve and certainly has huge potential without needing major surgery every season. Then I read social media, message boards and after every defeat or poor performance, the manager and certain players get analysed, criticised and sometimes just abuse for every tiny thing they did wrong. Let's say we have a brilliant end to the season and go up to the promised land, then what? Will the same voices be happy with getting dry humped by the big teams most weeks? Will the noises about the model and spending quieten down? Will the expectation be to spend as much as possible (like forest have done) and gamble on stopping up? For what should be such a positive club atmosphere, it feels to me like we are only 3 back to back defeats away from a toxic atmosphere. The groans where there Monday night when certain players made mistakes, yes it was cold, yes we didn't play well second half, but some of the things I have read have been way over the top.
Spot on. I saw people say “we’re only 4 points from a relegation spot” which indeed is true, but we’re also only 4 points from a play off spot. So why only care about the relegation? Mid table, said it before the season started and maintaining that completely. Don’t want to get promoted as we’re nowhere near prepared and this and next should be, imo, about consolidation in this division. Most who want Mowbray out eeem to think we should be top 6 comfortably!
