JH, I think many here questioned MMs tactics and style of play long before he got shown the door. Yes he got us to the premiership but many seem to forget it was a close (poor?) championship league last season. We were promoted with the 2nd lowest points tally since 2000 and still managed an 8 point gap ahead of Hull.
A lot of our football was dire to watch and we were the best of a bad bunch. There were some entertaining games as well but last season the championship should have seen a team take it by the scruff of the neck and get at least 100 points (imo).
MMs record is not impressive, his politics were transparent, especially at the end, and I lost some respect for him when he began over playing his hand in the press.
VT is an astute business man and has pumped in £140+ million into the club, on of the conditions was he wanted to see the team play in red. So the board agreed with him and the change was made. Doesn't the board also include Cardiff city fans? It was a vote and Tan got his way.

I buy any coloured Cardiff shirt apart from the red shirt.

No
Why won't I join a protest march?
The agenda is more than reverting to the colour blue and I do not agree with everything on the protestors agenda.

No, because you are confrontational and do not put up a valid debate. You choose to bad mouth those that do not agree with your agenda and will not engage in a decent debate.
Do I want Tan out?
No, the man has put his money where his mouth is and has not reneged on his promises to date.
Do I agree with Malky getting sacked?
Yes, his record in the premier league wasn't good enough to keep us up (relegation form). His transfer dealings were poor given the infrastructure he was allowed to put in place. He was given a budget and massively over-spent. The football was not exciting to watch. Some of these points I can accept, especially the defensive football but he did not change tactics for teams around us and lost us points we should have been picking up.
Winning against Man City probably raised expectations but surely he should have seen we were more than capable of holding our own?

Right that is my little rant and I do not think I am a fickle fan as I was not overly impressed when MM was appointed but supported him when he was our manager. If you cannot see he was taking us nowhere then fine but don't slag off those of us that could see his record wasn't great.

Please do not use the fact that you travel to away games to promote your loyalty, it is self seeking bullshit and adds nothing to your argument. It is great you can get to away games on a regular basis and you should be congratulated. Unfortunately you think you can use it as a weapon against fellow bluebirds supporters which dilutes any argument you may have had.
 
Taff, agree with all of your post.
There were quite a few of us on here during last season, basically saying MM's tactics were dire to say the least. I agreed with his sacking mainly due to his tactics and the way he set the side up, undoubtedly he has been caught out behind the scenes and sometime in the future the real truth will come out.
I for one will NOT be bullied by the Blue is the Colour/We love Malky brigade, i have been supporting the City for to long to be influenced by a bunch of idiots, especially as thier agenda seems to be Total Annihilation of our football club.

JH. Respect others opinions, most of them have been around far longer than you and Dai Jones Rhonnda is one of the good guys. The other thing you have to remember is you have only known the good times at Cardiff City.
 
John. You seem hell bent upon annoying/upsetting other members of this forum who have far more mileage under their belts supporting City away from home through the dark days, let alone these good times than you.

Can I make a suggestion? You drop this aggression towards fellow forum members and long standing City supporters who disagree with your insistance that you and the current crop of fans who can travel to away games are the only "real fans" of the club.

The colour issue is another thing you've got your teeth into. There is hardly a City supporter who doesn't agree with you regarding the principle that "Blue instead of Red" is what we want, but you are slagging off posters who totally agree with you, but are prepared at the moment to support EVERYONE involved with the club to make it a success.

Please back off from the aggressive forum rhetoric that is marking you out as a disruptive element amongst Cardiff posters on this forum. <ok>
 
Sparkey , please read my post before saying its me that starts the name calling game , been told i was dragged up in the gutter(did you notice) been called a dipstick(did that one pass you by) even been accused of being a liar ( opps that one got passed you as well) , seems if one is not happy being force feed all this Tan crap we cannot express opinion here , thought it was an open board not as its getting like a new "Groovie Gang" part 2 !!!!, if it annoys/ upsets anyone well thats life as we all have an opinion on here , don`t we?

We all have different opinions and if the first thing some can do is name call well that sums em up .

I have stood and talked to a few redtops on the away trips(still 99% blue tho) and have a decant convo but on here some think against what Tan is doing to the Bluebirds your a troublemaker and try to belittle those that protest against the OTT way Tan has gone about it .

As i have said before i have no personnel gripe with any Bluebirds , even at 22 i have been going for 18yrs thro mainly crap football ect ect

The way some name now are slagging MM off is disgusting and down the bay last season at the parade i bet they were shouting his name till shouting his name to the sky.


Hope OGS is the man for us and will get my full backing but never forget MM layed the foundations and deserves respect not cheap digs

The present situation is Tan is the owner Ole is the manager and already we have new players coming. We face hard games and are not safe by any means we have no time to talk about yesterday.

There is no point and no reason to keep saying the same things over and over about the past.

Either you are with us or against us and from what you post that will be very clear.

I am afraid the protests at the away game forced Malky out, there was no way these people would stop till the manager went so it forced Tan`s hand.

So JH I hope you are happy that you supported the protests that finally led to Malky being sacked.

JCK, that is absolute ****e. The protests were futile but in no way did they force Tan's hand. They led to MM getting a stay of execution till the Saints game in most peoples opinion.
 
Yeah, good theory jack have a ribbon for trying but that seems very unlikely mind you I don't think the protest did anything but delay the inevitable so in other word RESISTANCE WAS FUTILE

John - I've left it till now to reply to see what else came in on here, but it seems to be calming down a bit now.

I did notice the comments by others, but you seem to want to play the poor victim all the time. I also noted you called another poster a prick - that didn't escape me either. Many of the responses to your posts are as a direct result of your adverse comments generalising about other posters in the first place.

You provoke the response with your "plastic/real fan" shots at forum members and then moan when others take you to account for it.

You'd do well to take a step back from the belief that you and the current crop of travelling supporters invented away support - you're just following the tradition that most older fans have trod in the past.

Don't blow your value as an interesting Cardiff forum member by abusing others on here for no reason. You have your present circumstances and beliefs, others have theirs - leave it at that, and get your enjoyment from the game. <ok>

I think selected things that MM put about prior to his dismissal leads to he was looking to get sacked rather than resignation, which you cant blame him for due to the financial differences between being sacked and resignation. I can think of a number of little ticklers that he put out there which would have led to the inevitable sack, 'I need 3 new players' 'The fans are entitled to protest' 'I wont resign' etc etc. I believe he was trying to get the boot in the end and you cant really blame him for that. However as i have said before, i am glad he has gone, for the simple reason, his brand of football is absolutely awful. Yes he got us promoted, it was DJ's team that got us to the LC cup final, however he has to take some credit for that. We have far more chance of progress under OGS. Now i hope the MM brigade realise the decision for his sacking, accept it, and move on. I cant wait for the Hammers match.
 
Consider Tan and look at things from his point of view...that is asking a lot because no one wants to look at his point of view only their own.

Never mind.

The game was being shown live in Malaysia and he sees abusive banners protesting against him and supporting Malky.

Only one way to stop this and that was to get rid of the problem quickly.

I am not saying this was the reason I am saying it helped make Tan`s mind up coupled with everything else. If you think the protests actually did any good apart from giving the media more ammunition against our club then I do not agree.

Likewise to carry on and on here is doing no good at all, how many times do you need to make your point?

Thank god on the football front things are finally going in the right direction and we can look forward to seeing another brand of football sometimes called attacking football.

Do you get the feeling this coming game is the most important we have played all season? I do. It is absolutely essential City win. City need 3 points desperately to take into account the very real likelihood they will get 0 at both of the 2 away games in Manchester.

Home draws will not be enough given the coming run of away games.

Strong defence, solid and creative midfield and pace and high tempo football needed up front.
 
Before we play it is a must win game, but after, if the result isn't with us, we can put it to one side and hope we get wins elsewhere.
Was a great win against the Toon, so it shows we are able to get wins home or away, I am hopeful.
 
Jck, I see what you're saying with regard to the protesters and their visible support for Malky having the opposite effect. It probably didn't help Malky's cause and was one piece of the puzzle, in Tans mind, that helped him come to his final decision on when to sack Malky. We all knew Malky was on borrowed time before the Liverpool game never mind the Southampton game.

Saturday is a must win because West Ham are in dire straits at the moment and if we can't get maximum points when they're down on their luck we never will!
