they should really think before trying to wum, otherwise just like him they are twat's.

hmmm, one team totally outplayed their rich opponents with a great manager, the other was a wet fish. Plenty of reason for <laugh>

Anzhi were poor but also they didn't see a hell of a lot of the football. In the end it is the same for them traveling here as it will be for us going there, its a hell of a long trip and definately has an impact on a teams performance.

Spurs were just not very good, that aint wum

Who's <wah> ing?

You said we never qualified during the ban your hooligan fans created for English football, and I just showed you how wrong you were.

<doh> They were English football supporters, the ban was on English teams. Hooliganism at that time, spurs had their own scum. They just couldn't qualify for a major european tournament.

So there you have it on why it was not your hooligans that got English teams banned. Never mind it was more about stopping English teams dominating europe. Italian hooligans have always in general been far worse than the English variety, same for the Dutch. German, all a problem at that time, but an English club was showing up in finals too often for their liking so, instead of banning liverpool and Juve from european competition and investigating the italian police and the state of the stadium they put in a blanket ban on English clubs, how this is not a hatchet job on the strongest league at that time is beyond anyone with a brain.

That would all be fine and dandy apart from one thing. The initial decision came from the Government of the day. On the morning after Heysel they pulled us out of Europe (well not us as Watford only ever qualified once but you know what i mean). After that there was no way UEFA was going to do any different. You could argue that UEFA would have banned everyone anyway but I'm not aware of such a precedent - doesnlt really matter though as what's done is done and it cannot be changed now.

To suggest that UEFA banned all English clubs because they were sick of our dominance is fantasy of the highest order.

How many European competitions have Spurs got all English teams banned from?
How many fans of other clubs are dead because of the actions of Spurs fans?

Come on, answer those questions.

There are a lot of "twats" being bandied about, here. Let's try to keep it civil, lads. There's absolutely no point in getting personal. Much better to keep this to an objective and fair-minded discussion. What went on in the past is now history; it's 'Pool of today that I'm interested in.

NOTE TO SPURS FANS: Look, the Mousers are obviously going to be emotional over the decline of their once-great club (we would be, too), and they well stray into personal invective and other unsavoury comments, but let's be bigger than that, eh? Rise above it and let it go. Concentrate on unemotional fact, and don't get ensnared in unseemly, juvenile squabbling and name-calling.

I agree, I even apologised to the 'pool fan that called me a ******. I understand their pain at what they have to watch every week, it must be dreadful.

Interesting. I only watched the last 20 minutes and it looked like Anzi were all over you. If Eto'o knew how to weight a pass, they would have def equalised. Possibly the previous 70 mins were all one way?

Lets steer away from the Heysel stuff, eh?

And Mousers we're all very pleased for you getting two 1-0 wins in a row at fortress Anfield but you are getting a bit carried away, please dial it down a bit :)

is Bale back for the weekend?

can't see Spurs beating Southampton without their first choice diver <ok>

Wives and girlfirends of a few Liverpool fans must be praying for another win on Sunday - with most of the bruising gone by now the last thing they need is any fresh ones.

He's expected to be yes <ok>

Can't see your lot winning full stop, to be honest. Hoping you do though, it could help us move ahead of one of our rivals.
