As awesome as City are its amazing how many times you've been absolutely spanked this year. Even when you've been very average over the years I don't remember you guys having suffered humiliation on such a regular basis. A goal difference of -1 with the money you have spent and the squad you have is horrific. Yet you've picked up quite a lot of points.
I think that's part of the problem - too many new players. We started the season with over half a new team. Thanks to the incompetence of our former manager, they never got the chance to gel as a unit. Players were assigned different positions every week, etc. whether Sherwood can settle things down, only time will tell. Most of what we signed is of good, if not great quality. Soldado being a very expensive dud though.
Yeah I agree generally. Still don't think you should be letting 5+ in as many times as you have regardless of the squad. Thats not right at all.
Lots of injuries, stupid, naive tactics and not enough depth at left-back, plus a few rather poxy decisions in big games. No stability, which has lead to a predictable lack of consistency.
When push comes to shove, key games and key moments in games are decided by flashes of brilliance by quality players - especially in the second half of the season when it matters. That's why you can say what would Utd have done last season without RvP or Rooney, where would Liverpool be without Suarez, Spurs without Bale etc. Chelsea have promise in Hazard and Oscar, but where was a big game player to get the winner tonight without Mata? Unfortunately City have a few of these - Utd had five or six in 1999.
It's just the way it falls sometimes. In 2 of the 3 games we were 2-0 down with 10 men, a lot of sides would shut up shop and try and limit the opposition, we tend to go for it which can lead to embarrassing scorelines but hey, I'd rather see my team try and get something out of the game. You can crawl up in a ball and hope you don't get injured too bad or you can go down swinging and hope get a couple of punches in. As for the jibe about spending money, you guys spent over £100mill in 6 months once and finished 17 points off a top 4 place. If ever there was a post that summed up the reason this thread was made it's that. You guys are so unaware of how stupid you guys sound
To be honest, the Cortina Mk II GTE was ace, as was the Mustang (although you'd want the Shelby version). Their modern cars are insipid, overpriced sh*te though. And that Consul in The Sweeney
Of that hundred mil we got Suarez and a now improved Henderson, and the now gone ponytail and Downing helped us to a cup. #moneywellspent
Your last line was poor form mate. Mine was an observation, not a jibe. I, and others, have regularly criticized our spending in that period which was awful which you have failed to acknowledge. Regardless of what we have been up to it doesn't excuse your failings. And for your information I'm not stupid you arrogant turd.
You forgot Enrique But yeah, it was awful. But as you say, we've seen Carroll, Bellamy, Downing, Adam and Doni all leave (for about £28m in total) since with the other four (Suarez, Hendo, Enrique and Coates) still at the club and only one of them isn't an important player for us now.
