How can Bale be kinda English,he is Welsh!,you try telling a Welsh person they are kinda english,if you want a hospital visit

I've told many Welsh people they don't have a proper country. None of them are hard, they're all short with tiny disproportinate legs. Aren't they a principality? Hence the Prince of Wales is English? I dunno if it changed in recent times as i pay little attention to Wales but they were invaded in Plantaginet times because the King/Prince (i forget) of Wales refused to go to the Plantaginet King's (i forget which too) wedding, so he invaded, erected a load of castles there and the Welsh were never able to claim it back.

Haha, just looked it up, officially it ended being a principality in 1542! I'm living more in the past than the Mousers (sorry, cheap shot but it is the right thread ;) )

Apparently its complicated as to what Wales is now.

So, to cut a long story short, Bale is pretty much English

To be fair, much to my chagrin, Liverpool are still in with a chance of winning the PL.

I meant mathematically they are in with a chance. They could continue winning games, whilst others drop points. If Spurs were in Liverpool's position, I would expect our manager/coach to aim to win the PL.

Now my own view, is that Liverpool has no chance of winning the PL, but if I were BR, I would be aiming for this!

We are 2 points behind?

... if I were BR, I would be aiming for this!

I bet this thought hasn't occurred to Sherwood, Moyes, The Not-Quite-So-Special One, Whinger, Martinez, or Pelligrini. Nah, I bet they are all counting on losing some games and letting 'Pool in with a chance.
<doh>

I see Roy Rogers has started the delusion again,by saying Pool won't settle for 4th place, because we can win the P/L <laugh>

If they continue to benefit from favourable game changing decisions like we saw last Sunday and at many other times this season, they might!

BR has said that top 4 is the aim but of course we would like more and he believes we have the mental strength to get more. That's what manager are supposed to do (if you haven't realised yet). He's basically giving the team some extra belief to really try and push on now. He hasn't said we'll win it, he hasn't said we won't. He's simply stated our goal is top 4 and said anything more than that is possible. Let's be honest - it is actually possible (but doubtful). We're 6 points off the top with all the top teams coming to Anfield in the 2nd half of the season.

I predict top 4, of course anything higher than that would be a massive bonus.

I can't work out why opposition fans think he should be stoned to death for making reasonable comments from a manager that is just 6 points of the top with 17 games to go, especially as he's clearly a good motivator and man manager?

He's hardly going to come out and say 'Top 4 is unfortunately the highest we can get and we have no chance of anything higher' is he? That's going to go down well in the dressing room isn't it!!

I don't blame Rodgers at all but it's still funny because you're closer to 7th than the top. It's a funny old season this one and that's why Arsenal have been leading for so long and your boss feels you're in the title race. Realistically though City and Chelsea(or at least one of them!) will improve as the season progresses and they settle whilst I doubt anyone outside of Liverpool expects them to be good enough to not only maintain their excellent record so far but to improve on it.

As far as we go, 4th is probably our upper limit of what we can expect and unless we do something really special like beat Swansea and City in our up coming games then I don't expect our manager to be coming out with anything silly like saying we can win the league.

Well always aim high.

Its that mid table attitude that has stopped you lot from making the next level and staying there.
