Its amazing how often you hear and read Liverpool praising Liverpool. Rodger's praising his losing side yesterday, Suarez praising Gerrard, Carragher praising Suarez, it goes on and on. They live in their own little bubble, fingers jammed firmly in their ears, screeching about the 80's.
Only just seen that Roy of the Rodgers has stated that Dembeles tackle on Gerrard in the box was borderline assault. Haven't seen the highlights or replays. Part of the tragedy with Roy Rodgers is that we all know that he must, inevitably, suffer the anguish of realising that not only has he inherited a 5hite team and that he is the manager of a fading club, but that he simply is no where good enough to make up any of the great difference in class between 'Pool and bigger clubs, like ours. He is slowly being stripped of his delusions, and it must feel like the skin being peeled from his knob. You see, in order for Roy Rodgers to have had the luxury of continuing to delude himself that he has the ability or the squad to make top 5, he has to beat clubs like us and Everton. His failure to do so sits like a beacon illuminating the fact that 'Pool is now a mid-table club. They can't even beat teams like Toon or Swansea, for christ sake! Instead, they sit a mere 4 points off the relegation zone. He must, by now, know that his days at 'Pool are numbered, and that he will go down in history as the worst ever manager in 'Pool's history. His only saving grace is that, if 'Pool do manage to avoid relegation this season, they will have a continual battle with it, for many seasons to come.
Alan Shearer made Roy Rodgers look the fool that he is by stating what everybody else could see..... that it was a wonderful (fair) tackle, and he had the benefit of watching several replays. Both of Rodgers` claims for penalties were excellent defending and its just sour grapes and excuses by Roy, this Baffoon really does appear to be feeling the pressure.
Didn't see the game (only saw Bale's OG) as I've just moved house, haven't got anything set up yet... Apparently there was a dubious penalty decision and Bale was booked for diving (which I have now seen - embarrassing). Any comments? Honest question.

Neither of the supposed penalties that Rodgers was banging on about was one, in my opinion. Have a look and tell us what you think.
Dembele's "challenge" on Gerrard (a known diver) was a perfectly good tackle. A superb and brave tackle, in fact. The Mousers are clutching at straws, again. Roy Rodgers is bleating because he knows his arse is now very firmly on the line. His was always a very dubious appointment by 'Pool's Yank owner, and now the chickens are coming home to roost.
Some people will probably find this provocative, but I was wondering what our visiting Scousers thought of Ossie Ardiles' assessment of their team: “I’m very sorry to see Liverpool in such a predicament. They are nowhere near the force they used to be. It’s only the name [that is left] in a lot of ways and it’s a big pity for such a big, big club to be so poor. “They have one magnificent player in Suarez and Gerrard is still very, very good, but the rest of the team is well below the standard required to play for Liverpool.” Now, I can't say that I agree with him entirely, but does he have a point?
Looks like Dempsey made a LOT of the contact. Lucky he isn't called Luis Suarez. Bale seemed to tear us apart however. Not surprising, we need more up top to win these sort of games.
I note that Roy Rodgers is trying to put the frighteners on Clarice Starling to sign a new contract for £20k per week, rather than make demands for the £50k per week (no, don't laugh!). I reckon if Starling doesn't sign, Rodgers will eat her liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
The standard required to play for Liverpool is much lower than it used to be. Those sort of players are no longer around and neither are the coaches. The ethic that was once Liverpool is confined to the dustbin of history and will not recover.
Nice to know Ossie still holds us in such high esteem all these years after himself and Ricardo the World Cup winners applauded us off the pitch following Spurs humiliating 7-0 annihilation, a truer analysis from the very nice Argentine would be to point out that since he first came to Spurs in 78-79 season Spurs haven't improved past the sometimes cup winners status that existed back then whereas our standard as a 'big big club' has wavered to Spurs lowly status but with an added Champions League title.
I was talking to a Nigerian taxi driver in Italy last week who said he supported Arsenal. I asked him why and he said he hates Man U. I asked him why and he said because they buy all the best players from the other teams and don't give their own youngsters a chance. Now wasn't that just the same as Liverpool all those years ago. Buying ALL the top players from the other teams. ALL the best players weakening the other teams. Already established internationals. Liverpool bought their success. Kopite,it's no real use to talk about the past because it's now that matters and now you are a load of crap.
What utter rubbish! We are a third of the way through the season, and 'Pool are currently in a relegation battle, being a mere 4 points off the drop-zone. You have a Championship manager who doesn't even have the same quality of squad that he had at Swansea. 'Pool has been on a steady decline for the past three seasons, and things are getting worse. You have a foreign owner who has as good as admitted that he doesn't have the kind of money to spend on the club to make it compete for top honours. We, on the other hand, have grown steadily stronger over the past three seasons, finishing 4th, 5th, and 4th in our last full seasons; and we currently sit one win away from another top 4 spot. I'm sorry, Mousers, but until you grasp the very simple fact that we are now light-years ahead of you, you will be doomed to suffer the agonies of failure over and over again. Accept the way things are, and be grateful if you manage to stay up this season. It would be nice if you could, at the same time, show our club and fans the respect that we rightly deserve. We haven't bought our success like United, £ity, Chavs, and Arsenal, we have battled hard, from the grass-roots up. I know that, for some of you, what I am saying will be highly unpalatable, but that's the way things are, right now.
