Can"t agree COE, yes he won headers but most were headed to no one, or the opposition. I'm not blaming Drogba nor did I say he didn't do his best, just that he was ineffective. That's because we no longer play just the long ball , which is why he had nothing to work with. It looks like he just doesn't fit our current style of play with the midfield set up we use. Another game another midfield, he can still do a job.
I said at the start of the season that Mourinho's negativity was the only thing that could stop you winning the title But I don't think the Man Utd game should be given much attention, they only scored in the last minute from a set piece when it was 10v12 at home You only have to play 1 game at Old Trafford a season so changing your style for that one fixture is more trouble than it's worth
To be fair to Mourinho his team scored 2 away at Anfield last season although he was up against the tactical equivalent of Ronald McDonald.
And last season Moyes got a draw against Chelsea. Van Gaal's squad costs £220m more (plus whatever Dowd was paid) to achieve the same result.
Jose's Chelsea love to showboat way too much to be strong enough to win the EPL. Should've killed off ManYoo when he had the chance on Sunday...
Pretty much every time the ball went in the air he won it through his head or chest and 9 times out of 10 it went to one of our players, the attacking players behind him were just dross vs United, thought he was great. Fantastic again tonight as well
Didn't see the game tonight, but after your post I replayed the Utd Match. Lets agree to disagree. Stress that I am not saying Drogba is poor, just that he didn't adapt to our play well against UTD , our the team didn't play to his strengths. Pleased he went well tonight and hope he continues to go well. He's one of my favourites and I met him a couple of times because he almost rented my house in Cathcart Road when he first joined Chelsea. Unfortunately my 2 car park spaces were too small for his cars !!!!
