Grant is the latest to nix coming to Swansea.
I'm not saying don't look for a new manager Matt , only if wins start coming we should take our time and the way prospects are refusing , we may not have a choice in taking our time .
With a few wins under our belt , prospective managers may be more apt to consider the post .

<laugh> Thanks Bapp. It's what the Aussie's call "Tall Poppy Syndrome". A part of us likes seeing people cut down to size. I guess it's human nature. But it's difficult to have respect for a guy (despite his record) who shows little of it to others. He has whinged his way through this season, moaning about everything and failing to criticise the aggression shown by his players at times as their collective tempers boiled over. As a result, Chelsea as a team turned out like him - bitching, nasty and snarling. Maybe that's just me. Top manager, yes. Top person, no.

but that's the only way isn't it ?
Name one team in recent years that has become champions without a sizeable bank account ? All the top teams are able to spend 50 million plus on a player. Barca, Madrid, Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Paris St Germain.....The only way to get top players is to pay huge money. Someone still needs to manage them though. I guess Jose's greatest achievement was with Porto.

Do you know I agree with you and his record stands alone, but the clubs he has managed shouldnt he be winning those sorts of trophies, its not like he has managed a side that he has built up from nothing, it is not like a side that has hit trouble and he sorts it out. He has been totally unable to stop the slide at Chelsea, maybe not so special after all.

He has managed Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Porto, everyone of those clubs with their power inside their own league should be winning it or challenging for it. All should be challenging for domestic cups and at least 3 of them should be challenging for European honours as the norm. The only real achievement for me was winning the champions league with Porto. Lets be honest its not like he has won all these trophies with Stoke, Levante and Genoa.

So yes his record is superb, but with the teams managed so it should be.

Didn't he inherit the Tinkerman's team and go on to win the CL? I may have got that wrong and I really can't be bothered to look it up.

No top manager would have treated the medic the way he did - in public.
    The guy is an asshole.
Eva will be enjoying a glass of wine this evening. Regrettably, not with me. <laugh>

Chelsea are a grubby outfit, owned by a very shady operator, and Mourinho fitted in very nicely to the set up.
As a Club, they lack the cache and history of London's elite duo, Arsenal and 'Spurs. No amount of Russian money can change that.
Despite their success in recent years, they will always be the poor neighbours.

If we want a bit of investment money for the club , maybe we should contact the Russian's ex wife .

Have you ever heard of an oligarch that made his money honestly? Me neither. It was all done through cronyism when the USSR went tits up as those who grabbed power carved up the Russian people's assets. Bent doesn't begin to describe Abramovich. "Fit and proper"? I think not.

I agree those clubs should be winning trophy's with the amount of cash they have but there have been plenty of managers who have tried and failed with the same resources. Still needs someone with great ability to bring success. As I said I am not a fan of the man himself but as a coach thats a different matter.
