Who you supporting next? Infact I might start a thread asking since there seems to be a lot of Spurs fans who think that’s it for us back to Cricket
With a third of a season gone doesn't mean anything. And we are still in the CL which we had managed once before ENIC.
Didn't hear the news last night - was so excited about the election debate. What wonderful stuff Woke up this morning to find 1) I was not the UK winner of Euromillions 2) Spurs had sacked Poch and 3) Spurs appointed Mourinho. Nothing else for it I had to go and have a haircut at a new Turkish barbers to drown my sorrows.
The appointment could be a mistake but the sacking was long overdue. He had become too much of a negative influence about the place. The form of the team since the beginning of the year has been abysmal. Players that used to run their butts off for the team, pressing up-field were just going through the motions; a clear indication that he had lost a large part of the dressing room.
Nothing to do with anger it’s the lack of honest appraisal for our owner because he has built us into a super power off the field but when he is failing dramatically with on field activity you defend him to the hilt and now he makes a decision you disagree with and you do the equivalent of a shoulder shrug even though that decision goes against all your footballing ethics and beliefs it seems. Teflon Levy However like I said earlier..I praise him for his ruthlessness once again and his appointment of Jose.
The tweets from Kane, Son and Dele were all very supportive. I agree that something looked wrong but I think he had earned the time to sort it out.
If only we could get sponsorship from ENIC Airlines. They wouldn't have to fly to many places or make a profit, but as long as they sponsored us for say £500m I think that would be ok as I understand that type of sponsorship does not break FFP rules. Oh if only the Rugby League authorities were in charge of UEFA....
I think he hasn't got his head straight after the CL Final defeat and telling the media that he might leave if Spurs won it didn't help either. As soon as players think you're not going to be around for much longer their levels are going to drop. And the fact that we're in relegation form means something had to be done. Levy has to share some of the blame for not getting rid of Toby, Jan, Eriksen and Rose in 2018 for big money as Poch wanted in order to re-invest in the squad but ultimately Levy isn't going to get rid of himself.
It was you that said Spurs fans should be angry with Levy! I disagree with a lot of things that Levy does and a few that Poch does. But I am a Tottenham fan and that is almost certain to remain the case irrespective of what is happening. Levy has a big personal investment in Spurs and I think he is genuinely trying to build us into the top club in the world. Probably a little ambitious but Audere est facere.
Over to the THST... The Club has moved quickly to fill the managerial vacancy. Jose Mourinho is now the manager of Tottenham Hotspur and we hope this will bring the success we all want. There are obviously concerns about how Jose and our Club’s Executive Board will work together, and we are sure all fans would appreciate greater clarity on how the Club sees this relationship operating in practice. The questions around transfer policy, wages and accountability raised in our earlier statement on Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking still apply and we encourage the Club to communicate their plans thoroughly and transparently with their fan base. The Club must ensure it does not find itself in the same position in two or three years’ time, and we need to hear from the Executive Board what the long-term thinking behind this appointment is, and how it sees its role. As a supporters organisation, we hope for a successful future that respects the unique Tottenham Hotspur identity and the traditions Spurs fans cherish so dearly.
Oh yeah well angry could have been replaced with a lot of words my point was you should be raising your eyebrow in his direction since you disagree with this appointment so vehemently.
Essentially I think the best Chairman in the PL has ****ed up by getting to a position where he felt he had to sack our best manager for 50 years. But running a football club is incredibly difficult so he gets cut a lot of slack. I don't want to feel angry when I attend matches as that makes them no fun.
Sing Jose’s name and back him...give him the support he deserves and understand that he will make demands for players as all managers do..it’s not exclusive to Jose.
**** yessssssss One of the best managers we have seen in the modern game holding up our shirt whilst beaming like a Cheshire Cat...beautiful
