This site does have a ready-made place for hurling abuse at other contributors. It's called general chat (but feel free to do it in the Southampton forum as well <ok>).

If laughing at someones misforrtune was bad, TV shows like You've Been Framed and other various shows make fun of things like peoples cars being crashed, you don't see that in the news.

It wasn't her fault completely, but she did park where she wasn't meant to, and i think Dan's calling her that because she complained to the press.

I read of this and am confused. A woman had parked her car near a football stadium and it was hit by a bus which contained the visitors. That was unlucky but there are comments the woman was parked where she should have not done so. Also one of the links indicated she was living close to this place and was a fan of the team so she must know of the football problems. The other thing I really do not understand is if she was a fan of Bristol City why was she or her partner looking for twits by Watford footballers and was the reporting to the newspapers designed to gain a payment of some type?

Also is this not the second or third time the Watford bus has hit something recently?

You are correct. The coach recently reversed into an unused marquee at Vicarage road

    NOt quite right Ak

The woman was told by an official that she could park there
She did not live there but was visiting
Nowhere does it suggest she is a football fan of any club
She would have been alerted to the tweets by someone no doubt
She has nothing to gain financially by reporting to local press as they do not pay for that sort of story

Why go to so much effort to expose the "sinister" nature of the lady's actions, "deliberately" making things up to get her "15 minutes of fame". Everyone who is attempting to defend our beloved Watford seems to believe her "inept" parking is a far worse crime to the insensitive actions by our players.

Good grief - if you got any higher on your horse you'd be in outer space - I really hope it won't be any nail in any coffin for Deeney or anyone else. What he did in Birmingham was very wrong and he was rightly punished for it by the law of the land - which also allows him to be released at half way through his sentence. This allows him to show he can be repentant to all 'eye for an eye' believers and to reintegrate into society for the rest of us mere mortals who do occasionally err. I think Deeney did very well indeed to apologise and also show he meant it. All he has done now is behave as most young men behave - if we punished everyone who twitted insensitively or had a conversation in a pub at someone else's expense then the vast majority of young men would reside permanently at her majesties pleasure. Fortunately we don't live in China or similar dictatorships and young men do occasionally mis behave. Thirty five yeas ago I am sure I did the same on many occasions - that I don't do so now probably means we do grow up and out of it if left to be normal. To condemn Deeney now with a final nail in the coffin shows (in my view) an intolerance usually reserved to the polit bureau.

Now I'm off to cheer Watford (including Deeney) on at Brighton.

Actually yello I supported Deeney when I thought he had learned his lesson for a "mistake" (quite a nasty one). After that he was supposed to have learned how to behave in public but this shows he is like any other little thug - he is supposed to represent a family club but clearly is too thick to understand that. He is not "most young men" - he is a public figure who is constantly in the spotlight and paid a vast amount of money. I don't want someone who can revel in someone else's misfortune representing me or my club. Hope we sell him in January. Just because I don't agree with you does not make me authoritarian or politburo material - anyone who knows me would tell you I am quite liberal in my views but I do not appreciate nasty people and he has shown himself to have a very nasty streak - not once now but twice. A lot of other people did not want to give him even a second chance.

Yes interesting that many posters did not want him back under any terms.... and are now vehemently behind him.

I have always say give the person another chance and I did then...

I must say I looked at him with a different perspective this evening after his twatter...

Unfortunately the way our society works so called "famous" people who have media attraction can behave hurtfully in the public domain and get away with it... when in reality we expect more of them.

I think this sentance sums it up. It was childish to tweet about it and if you hit someones car your mates wouldn't start tweeting about it. However, I think her deciding the best thing to do was run to papers is stupid. I would have made a complaint to the club about the tweets privately and delt with the whole matter behind closed doors.

Well clearly we aren't going to agree on this - for my part I don't think Deeney is all that bad so we'll have to just disagree.
