Thinking that we should perhaps have a regular 'Man of the Match' opinion post after each game - It's been really refreshing today to hear so many differing views which, after such positive performances from Hoilett, Townsend, Bosingwa in particular, all hold hould stir some more positive debate. Be nice to get all of those opinions in one place so we can discuss the relative merits of each players claim.

Someone (not me, I'm a lazy ****) could go further and do a poll each week to produce a league of MOTMs. Be interesting to see who ends up at the top after the next 9 crucial games.

Just a thought... btw my vote today would have been for Townsend. A goal, an assist and tireless energy shown in working for the team - all from a loaner!

Totally agree, in the long-term (like Kyle Walker) his real eye is likely on impressing AVB so someday he can make it into the Spurs starting line-up, as Walker has done. We're just lucky to have him onboard along for the ride.

I thought the best player on the pitch by a country mile was Bosingwa.

For the first time, he was outstanding.

He was very, very good today mate. I'm finding it hard to choose motm between Bosingwa and Townsend. Hoilett was great first half, but not so much 2nd. Also thought Mbia had his best game for us too.

Townsend for me but Hoillett, Bosingwa and Hill close. Mind you, what about Remy with four starts and three goals? It was a real shame that he was not fit when we played against norwich. We easily could have two points more.

The fact there are several candidates from a really good team performance is definitely a step in the right direction, Townsend's all-round performance edges it from Bosingwa, Mbia and Hoilett...

Interesting thoughts from Col & Sooper. I too thought Mbia had one of his best games; he seem much more controlled (a few flailing arms that need to be watched) but worked much better within his DM role.
As for MoM - it's a toughie isn't it. For me, too, between Boswinga (who impressed enormously and showed what he is capable of) and Townsend (who worked as tirelessly as everyone and was a real thorn in the side of Sunderland).
So for impact and changing the game, it has to be Townsend (by a *** paper).

Towsend for his energy, attitude, pace and screamer for a goal!. Townsend must be super fit..his pace didnt stop for the whole game. Bosingwa looked good and I didnt know he was that quick!

It's nice to read about a good team performance ... now look at our squad and believe lads ... believe to has to click

Our attacking players were all on top of their game yesterday.

For me though it has to be Hill. The way he dominated Fletcher was a sight to behold! Truely amazing timing in the air, such focus, just what we need to pull this off.

And with Townsend and Hoilett on the flanks causing so much trouble I can't see a quick route back for Adel.

Park did well also, but he is so more effective when we're leading than when we're scrapping. Very neat and tidy, and tactically good.

My MOTM is Redknapp. The fact that he can get the best out of a walkout (Bosingwa) and a loanee (Townsend) in a relegation dogfight speaks volumes.
