If a nomination wasn't actually on the pitch, it's just ignored; if a player is mentioned more than one, just the highest vote is counted.
Quite a challenge for some folks. Equally as irritating is the indecisive brethren amongst us, who rate 2 players equally. (eg Jones / Greaves). No way am I starting to add up in halves. The second name will just get ignored.
Are you saying just write 3 names and do not provide any other comments? Obviously to make it easier to total up?
I was more referring to people who either put two names in one place (as Ernie just referenced), or voted for the goalpost, or the fans, or the ref, or any other irrelevant nonsense. Equally, people who wouldn't actually use the players name, but would completely create their own nickname, writing things like Filo Pastry for Philogene, or similar. It's a tiresome job collating the results as it is, without people complicating the process for no good reason.
If I can work out a bizarre nickname quickly, I’ll count it. If I can’t, I just ignore it. It’s much easier if people just use a player’s name though. I also ignore sarky votes - like when Bob votes for Allsop after he’s positioned himself all wrong for the whole game and conceded three.
Five points for first choice, three for second, one for third. Coyle 145 Slater 105 Seri 43 Philogene 15 Carvalho 11 Zaroury 6 Greaves 4 Jones 4 Omur 2 Interesting that in the most Rosieball of victories the vast majority of votes went to two players who are regularly slated as not being very good proponents of the style. This result puts that nonsense to bed.
