The way I see it, Lambert leaving should be used as a catalyst to fire the players up

Look at the likes of pilks, bennett(both), Tierney, fox, Johnson, Ayala, rusty Martin, Wes, morison and the like. By leaving he's saying "I can do better than you, I want to work with a higher 'calibre' of player"

I say "**** that"

We have players with immense skill Ready to tear another arsehole in this league

We are spoilt with cash for a new manager so we can bring new players in

We have a real opportunity here, the right man could take us to that next level and I believe lambert leaving should be used as the fire to ignite and bein the players together.

It's a reasonable assumption you make Beef and yes it could be used to motivate, lets hope it happens eh <ok>

This is another reason why, for now at any rate, I dismiss any claims that Norwich City are doomed to a relegation battle next season. They are the same players with the same ability they had in May, there is no good reason why they should become crap all of a sudden, plus most of them now have that elusive PL experience we were being told about a year ago (that we didn't have and that also meant certain relegation) <laugh>
 
We have more than enough attributes to push on in my opinion

Lambert has sold himself short with villa, they are a bigger club but aren't in "another league" (not a Manu or chelsea etc, not even an everton IMO) will it cost him? He'll probably get a tune out of the players but the villa fans won't give him time, another bad season and they'll crucify him.

When our stadium gets expanded what will villa have over us that they have now? Some ancient history? Sounds like another club I know of that we're blatantly bigger than...
 
Good point Beef, these players were bought at a young age where they are yet to reach their full potential. They are only going to improve with the right coaching. Who better to have started them off than Lambert. We don't necessarily need him to make these players the finished article. Lambert has given us the template to follow and become a better team.

On a side note we need another 'Pink'un highlight of the week' (or several highlights) cos they must all be going f'ing mental over there! <yikes>

I have been trying to imagine my ex-wife's reaction (A Canary of course) to PL walking away. She has this thing about Scottish players and managers, she would have totally idolized Lambert and my guess would be she is currently in bits over this - I ****ing hope so <laugh>

Seriously, she was a stereotype woman football watcher - legs, bums and in her case - the Scottish nationality (which was illogical as she is English!) but knew little about anything else.

I had a headteacher who had a big thing for Lappin's derrière, I'm pretty sure that's the only reason she ever went to games, and I'm led to believe she had a poster of him in her office.
 
Why will we be relegation material next season? Sorry but I don't buy it!

We haven't lost any of the starting XI or those on the bench (except Naughton and Whitbread).

With a new manager, regular players will be ever keener to prove themselves, while those who thought they were out of favour have a huge chance to impress, therefore I'd expect an increase in performance. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Exactly a focused sense of aggression to Lambert could help motivate some players, I'm sure most of them will be grateful he gave them a chance but on the flipside they should feel a bit dumped too.
