Correct me if I am wrong...but that is the march to Wembley from Loftus Road before the League Cup Final in 1967. The banner says "QPR for the Cup"....we carried a coffin...with WBA inside and the cross says "QPR march on"....no idea about the KKK member....but I am sure it was all in the best possible taste as the great Kenny Everett would say... I so wanted to be on that march, but as I lived in Wembley it was pointless Why is one of our greatest moments on the Chelsea website??? Do they not realise...
I loved the old Flanagan and Allen partnership. Oh, altogether now: Underneath the arches...tra-la-la... P.S. He also looks like a 70s German plumber I saw in a video once....
If Flanagan is that bloke out of the Scorpions, isn't the guy in the bed sheets KKK Downing from the Priest?
Ron was one of my odd choice heroes. Less than 50 games (including subs appearances) in something like 7 years. Glenn Roeder used to run like he had a broomstick up his arse.
Bushman explained all that in this thread http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/217013-League-Cup-Final-1967
Hi folks, found a few more from that era ............ plus different link. Sorry to hijack the thread but thought fans would like some of the older photos. That's funny! I feel certain that dressing up as a Klu Klux Klan member today would break some law or other!!
P.S. He also looks like a 70s German plumber I saw in a video once....
What video would that be uber.......😉
What video would that be uber.......
I can't quite remember, Nuts, as I only saw about 3 minutes of it whilst Mrs Uber was down at Tescos.
My first thought was he was dressed as a ghost, would the average Londoner in the pre-globalisation 60s even been aware of some odd American secret society of nutters?
The huge Danish striker (Nygaard?) we had up front some12 years ago now - he always looked to me like he was warming up for a heavy weight contest when he played. Saw him play once against a very similar CB, Watford's I think. Theere wasn't much football but the sparring was entertainment.
Always thought Jim Langley looked far too old to be playing football, I know he was in his late 30's when he played for us but he looked in his 50's.....
Aussie, the picture is the March to Wembley in 67' carrying the body of West Brom. A very famous picture.
Cheers mate, I just googled IMAGES .......... 'QPR PLAYERS 1970's' to try and pull up some old photos and found this. As Beth has mentioned, why is it on a Chelsea site? Anyway, good to have some info on it. Also good to hear of members here like 'Jeffranger' who was on the march.
