Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin. Otherwise most recognised as TOTP. The Smiths - This Charming Man. Simply brilliant.
I m getting ****ing sick of this ; the intro to "Layla" was conceived and played by -the vastly superior - Duanne Allman - that boring turd clapton isnt fit to gargle Allmans pish...never mind continue to bask in the glory of a riff he never played and has now stolen as his own... I told you all that in BHs remarkably similar guitar intro thread a month ago WHY WONT YOU LISTEN Anyway , the most instantly recognisable riff remains Free`s " Alright Now "
An "outro", is that the word that is used?(serious question) I would have thought it would have been an extro.
If we're speaking bass guitars as well as lead guitars then quite frankly the most instantly recognisable intro is just three notes played by the man that invented the bass as the lead guitar - Peaches - JJ Burnel. A close second would be No More Heroes who most people don't even realise is a bass guitar intro.
