After a very promising start to the present season we could, with all our best players present, have had the best position we've ever had in the Premier League.

I often find that when I read this board as well. Good article though, football fans can be very fickle. Our lot are incredibly so when it comes to strikers. It might have something to do with the fact that the ones we have aren't much good, but the last one who scored is usually acceptable (at the moment it's Lovenkrands) while the others are the antichrist. Bruce is an embarrassing knob though. All he seems to talk about is Newcastle. Sulking after the first derby, then he was going on about playing his little song, then finishing above us when you drew and now again last week. It seems to me like he'd accept 19th in the league if it meant you finished ahead of us. He's mediocre at best as a manager, I don't really think he's taken you forward since Keane despite the money he's spent.
i personally am peeved at you, i don't like being categorized for my beliefs, just because it suits you, and i want Bruce out, I didn't want him from day one but gave him the benefit of the doubt, he is inept in my opinion, but i never try any push my views down someones throat, unless they are a skunk, chill out mate and think before attacking

Another great thread that generates debate without decending into a name calling saga. I thought that with the season coming to an end I'd not be looking forward to my visits to the board but if this thread and the one started by cest earlier are a taste what's to come we are in for some good debates.
I think the title of the thread got you off to a bad start GB, it was bound to rub people up the wrong way! For the second day running, I've had to pull someone up for using the words "Bruce haters". Almost half of us on here have lost faith in Steve Bruce, but I have yet to read one post from anyone suggesting that he is hated. I, like others, actually like him as a person, but can't support him as manager anymore for numerous reasons that have been posted on here by a significant number of members in recent weeks. You have your opinion and that is fine, but to accuse people of not knowing anything, or not knowing anything because they've never played football I found a bit offensive. You don't have to have played football to have extensive knowledge of the game. Many officials become referees because they can't play the game. I don't recall ever seeing John Motson play football and what about fans who are wheelchair bound, do they know nothing? You raised some valid points, but then ruined your post with some ill-advised comments that were bound to offend some, including me!
Dorset I'm not here to have a good start or to be liked, we are all just sitting behind computer screens having are views and don't even no who eachother are hardly, so wether I'm liked or not, it's not my greatest concern, just wanted to give my view like anyone else. And yes, your right, a person in a wheelchair could know far more about safc than all of us, but I didn't mean it in that way, and I didn't mean to offend people. If I offended you, I do apologise and well said.
I know what you are trying to say, not here to be liked, all just sitting behind our computor screens but I dont see it like that. To me this isnt a facebook or chat line its a group of people from far flung places who all share a love of football team. Like you my main concern is not do you like me but we all prefer to be liked than not but I do respect you because you support my team. Now if we can debate, argue and at times fall out but do it with that base of respect it helps.

As you say, you have been reading the threads for some time, so you'll know that the majority of us get on great, with some really good banter between us, but if you're not interested in all of that, then fair one. Seriously, take heart in the fact that Quinn & Short are happy enough with Bruce, the fat lady (the media) are not yet singing for Bruce so you should be satisfied with that also. NOT606 - the REAL rules Temper your passion - its will be your downfall as many will gladly pick you to pieces & make you look small and revel in doing so and they are like jackals - once one starts you have had it - think tag team wrestling but without the physical contact.
