My first ever game, Brentford home in round 5 1971. Don't remember much though! I believe we won.

I think I've only been to one FA Cup game before the semi & that was the 1-6 v Chelski. I don't really recall a lot of cup runs, 1st round when in L1 & L2, then 3rd round when in the Championship & PL. Only cup runs I recall were when we lost 3-0 to Wigan 5th round & then the Liverpool 3-2 in the 80s, since then only in 08 when we reached the 1/4s.
Most of our games seemed to be away, which were lost, even this season, with only the Brighton game (replay) & Sun'lan as the Home games.

We left it late, slightly fortunate winning goal (foul on their keeper).

    30,000 gate.

That was the the day the vermin lost at 3-2 at Layer road, which just rounded off a great day.

Bradford PA away, 1st round, 65/66. Fog was so bad could only see half the field. BPA really going for it 2nd half and we had no idea what was going on, no radio in those days, anyway we scraped a 3-2 win I believe and the rest is history.

Thinking about it and it as sad as it may seem, bar the reason success, due to my age, my most memorable times supporting City came in the 90s.

I’d hardly miss a game, home and away, during that decade.

And all (the few) successes were milked to the maximum

3-0 away at Brentford on a Tues night.
4-3 away at Cardiff (last minute winner)
The wall falling down at Runcorn
The rearranged match at Witton (I saw Chris Hargreaves score for us – bet most of you never did)
    4-3 away at Cambridge
    2-1 cup win at Darlo
    Morecambe cup win
    Fettis v Oxford and Blackpool

I’m sure to most of you the above list looks as sad as ****.

    So it goes.

FA Cup First Round 1981, first game away to Rochdale, good mob of City went away and mayhem ensued, pitch invasions from all sides, drew, took them back to BP, drew, second replay beat them at Elland Road!

Blyth Spartans, Penrith and Tranmere away in the Cup in 1984, more mayhem.

Never ever thought we'd ever make the final!

You've all got very good memories, I can't remember what happened in half our games this season, never mind thirty years ago.

I was there but didn't see his only goal for us that clearly due to the fog! Just silhouettes at the other end of the pitch!

Fond memories of Penrith Tranmere Cardiff and Bradford away matches in the 80s, not so good memories of Brighton and Wigan that decade.

Concidering I've only been going since around 94 and that time we've been pants in the cup.

I'd probably say the Whitby game. It was my first night game and only got to go because it was half term.

Got to be the Liverpool game in 1989 - and also that Bradford game before it. (The 3-2 league win at Bradford a few months later was pretty great too.)

    Chelsea 66 away
    Everton 1-1 64 Billy Wilkinson
Man City lost 1-0 1969 Neil Young
Wolves at home 70s, thought lots of City fans that day early till I heard the accents.
    West Ham 1-0
3-2 to Stoke 1971 still traumatises me

My selection is Coventry City in the 71/72 season. It was the first away match that my parents allowed me to travel to without supervision. It was back in the days of football special trains and being a trainspotter it was a double treat for me.

And the result? A 1-0 win with, inevitably at the period in time, a Waggy goal.
