I think he will always be fondly remembered as Dave to most Hull City supporters.

They really werent.
He started well and got better and better.

First 4 months of season our right hand side was Dave/Elmo. Lack of understanding, in each other's way. Elmo sulked a lot. Dave did alright.
Next 4 months right hand side was Dave/Snodgrass. More space for Dave and he thrived.
Last 2 months back to Dave/Elmo and both did well.

That's my recollection.
