Strange signing in the first place. Maybe Del saw him as a role model/mentor....? Either way, saving £5k a week has to be the right thing to do for a fringe player who isn't playing in the first team
Del may have made good signings but he didn't sign what we needed which is just a joke, I don't give a **** about how he had missed players he was here for a year and a half and didn't bring in one permanent CB. THAT was his downfall and had he signed a davies or baldock at CB he would still be here and we wouldn't be in this mess
There were some top players that came in whilst McInnes was in charge but who actually bought these players as it seems, gone are the days when managers bought and ran the clubs, now it appears the manager or head coach tells the board what he wants and they will then go and get a player in and as we have seen at Swindon this week it can also go the other way that the board will sell a player without telling the manager so who knows who was behind some of the signings in recent years. I think it was Miller we had up front many years ago who was bought after a director was on holiday in Scotland and saw him play and thought he would make a good signing.
'So he signed, Heaton, Cunningham, Baldock, Davies, Kelly, Anderson plus 6 or 7 plus good class youngsters, he might have made some mistakes but he did a lot of constructive things in his year...' And left us adrift at the bottom of the Championship. It shows McInnes couldn't, even with 'Heaton, Cunningham, Baldock, Davies, Kelly, Anderson plus 6 or 7 plus good class youngsters' couldn't get pissed in a Brewery.
Echoing Prem really but come on, show some class. It didn't work out with McInnes or Morris but Del tried gave it his best shot, Morris wanted to play and has left to go and do that, best of luck to them both. In terms of 'worst ever signing' he is miles and miles behind Hunt, Stewart, Styvar etc in terms of the amount he cost us.
How the hell do we know what Morris was on? Who has plucked 5k a week out the air? Theres no way he was on that much. Someone said he was on £800 a week at St Johnstone with playing/win bonus'. Theres no way we are giving him a pay hike to play in a better league!
I have no opinion on the bloke either way, he didn't get a chance to prove himself with barely 5 games. Think its a bit harsh on Shiny, when most players dont have this to say to us after they leave our club.... All from his Twitter. As I said I wish city nothing but the best.all I wanna do is play football and I haven't had that enough..need to get playing again! Thats what the United fans say about Patrice Evra. I asked them who their favourite left back was and they came up with the Neville brothers. When I asked about Evra they said he was class going forward but couldn't defend. They made the point that the full back's job was primarily to defend. I suggested names like Breme and Roberto Carlos as full backs who were weak in defence, but still would walk into any side in the world for their attacking prowess. Obviously the standard of player is different by a country mile, but the concept remains the same. Incidentally, I completely agree on Ribiero, who was our brightest young player for quite a while. It was tragic about his injuries woes, and when you think about it, what with his injuries and Maynard's injury, Johnson and Millen had little luck on that front
'Who has plucked 5k a week out the air? Theres no way he was on that much'. Junior was on £6k a week so we got away lightly with Morris. We even paid most of his salary whilst he was on loan at Chesterfield and it gets worse - Chesterfield dropped him. They were both a waste of space, although Morris 3years older than Junior, did hold down his place in that Pub League. Junior's got the 'boot' again. This time from Kilmarnock although he's not worried because of his investments. Thanks Dad
I also find it baffling people still sticking up for LJ ages after he has left us.... A rubbish scottish club has dumped half way through his contract after playing hardly any games. Look at his career game total stats, the ONLY person to put any stock in him was his dad, NO ONE else. I loved GJ, always will, but his son was always a wrong'un.
Lost his way? What way was that then, did I miss it? Between him & Millen IMO contributed to two Dreadful seasons, bad as each other......As to Morris, again IMO terrible player, didn't rate him at Chelsea and what I saw, didn't to much to help us.......but hey ho the above are all history and now it looks as we have a decent manager AT LAST.
