Not convinced his attitude would be right especially if we have him on loan. Would look elsewhere myself, he basically ****ed us off to force a move even though he was nothing when we signed from non league.

Leave him at Leeds, doesn't get worse than that ;)

I really cannot understand this antipathy towards Steve Morison. He played for us and delivered, and just like anybody else he tried to better himself financially, just like the rest of us. Players have a short career ( which can be made even shorter if they get a bad injury) and when a club decides they are no longer any use to them, they get shown the door.

So Morison did the same as any of us, engineered a pay rise and got a move and secured his future financially............in return Millwall banked a couple of million.

So the way I look at this situation is we still get to keep the player and the two million and pay him a decent wage...........win win in my books....whilst at the same time being charitable towards a cash strapped club who cannot afford to keep him..........Prostrate Cancer, Leeds United.......what have they got in common ??????.....answers on a postcard please

Agree EIO and tbf I'm coming around to the idea of re-signing him, the fact is he's better than all the **** KJ brought in last season Tyson & Hulse too name only two! <doh>

Fact is Kenny's eye for a striker is pony as he only brought in one stand out striker during his reign - Moro with Keogh the only other decent striker but for some reason he seemed to lose his confidence last season. <ok>

I think spotting and getting good strikers is a really difficult call.

This was a blind spot for KJ - and it's also a bit of a Holy Grail in football and for managers.

KJ always said he built from the back. He was very good in that area but I've been arguing for a separate coach up front for a while.

I envy those teams with strikers notching up 20 goals a season - can't forget that Wood was our best striker by a mile and he was with us less than half a season.

I think M's attitude was poor at the end - and he had a lot to be grateful for to KJ - but possibly better that and scoring goals - than nice but ineffective.

    That way lies relegation.

The only question is - will he be as successful second time round?

Only one way to find that out....

    Sign him up!

Kane? Henderson? I know opinion is divided over Hendo but he was easily our best striker in 2011/2 and last year scored 7 in 17 championship games. It's also probably worth noting that Wood's most successful spell ever as a goalscorer was when he was partnered with the bloke.

We all know he comes with personal baggage and will have time out but as a striker he was extremely successful. Frankly letting him go at the same time as Wood naffed off was asking for trouble and trouble is precisely what we got.

To be honest lads I think you currently have the worst team you've had in the 5 or 6 years I've been taking the piss out of you lot.Looks like a long season relegation battle ahead for you lot,Morison is way ahead of any players you have at present and any good players wont touch you with a barge pole so unless you want Tyson and Hulse back ?.Maybe your hammer top man can get you a few more old Hammers though ?.<whistle>

Chesh, theirs always an amount of uncertainty when a new man brings in his own players and ideas, talk is cheap as actions speak louder than words, as I gather Leeds aren't in a great position themselves having to off load to bring in players, I think will either surprise or bomb this season with no in between, what makes this championship the best in the English leaque and more unpredictable then the prem, think it might be the same for Leeds to:emoticon-0148-yes:

    Done deal

Striker Steve Morison has joined Millwall on a season-long loan - in a move that will enable boss Brian McDermott to complete the signing of Noel Hunt.

The 29-year-old, who joined the club last January from Norwich City, returns to a club he helped win promotion from League One in 2010.

Morison has made 16 appearances for United, since moving from Carrow Road, and he netted three goals, including both goals in the 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace in March.

The striker reported back for pre-season training at Thorp Arch on Thursday, but was in London on Friday, finalising the terms of his switch to Millwall.

Boss Brian McDermott told the club website: “I am looking to re-shape my squad for the new season and there was an offer on the table for Steve to go to a club that he has already played at it.

“He’s there for a year and he will be playing games, and due to the terms of the deal he can’t play against us.”

The incoming transfer of former Reading forward Hunt to Leeds has been waiting to be rubber-stamped for several weeks, with the 30-year-old’s wage demands reportedly around £12,000 a week.

By getting part of the wages of Morison - who is thought to be on a weekly wage in the region of £17,000 - off the club’s books, it effectively allows Hunt to come in.

No agreement to sign him if deal goes well so looks like a max of 1 season we will have him.

A stop gap until we can get someone the following season and better than most of the strikers we currently have I suppose.
