It now seems that the original reports suggesting that Leeds United defender Tom Lees was being charged by the Serbian Police for his part in the altercation at the end of the under 21 play-off match between Serbia and England are false.
News originally broke on Tuesday that two unnamed England playershad been charged by the Serbian Police following the fracas, which marred the game in Krusevac on October 16th.
On Wednesday Leeds defender Tom Lees along with Tottenham Hotspur defender Steven Caulker were reported to be the two players being charged along with Coach Steve Wigley.
Leeds released a statement on Wednesday evening, stating that they had received no communication from the English FA and that Lees himself had received no notification of the charge.
It now seems that it was a case of the wrong Tom being named. Blackpool midfielder Tom Ince is now being reported as the player, along with Caulker to be charged although this is yet also to be confirmed.
