Am I the only one who does not, and has never rated Derry. I reckon year in, year out the top of the Cghampionship are better than the bottom of the Prem. Derry has never really made it in the Prem. He's been one of those nearly players. I'd rather keep Brown. Lets face it Warnock wouldn't play two 35 year old midfielders

Elland, I think Derry's role at QPR is the same as the guy we had from Coventry for a while. Unsung hero who quietly just breaks up attacks & let's the glory boy wingers & forwards get all the limelight. I wouldn't want him back, as, like you, I wouldn't want to 35 year old CMs. I also think Brown is a better player.

Brown really does look after himself. He really does keep himself in trim. Derry comes across as an old war horse

Derry and Brown would have to rotate and would cost the same as what Clayton wants

I won't be happy at all if we get some 30+ year old to replace Adam Clayton. He's only had one season,he was bound to get better. Also Sky Sports understands thats Jason Pearce will be announced as the first signing tomorrow.
feel free to follow me on twitter as I have barely any followers haha-Callumi0

Lads, I think we're getting a wee bit carried away here and not giving Warnock the respect that he's due. He's clearly got a plan, and after the clearout news, we naturally view it as being a very risky plan. But do you think he's stupid enough to do this without doing his homework beforehand. I think it would be reasonable to guess that he's already shaken hands on a number of 'unofficial' deals, and knows exactly who he'll be signing - the spine signings at least. This is not Grayson - this is a PROVEN, experienced manager, and he bloody knows what he's doing. After all he's been successfully doing it for years. His reputation is on the line too, and he won't be risking that. Believe me, he's playing the percentage game he's always played.

Have faith, he's not a wee boy, y'now!

P.S. Looks like Kissa & Rogers will be right for pre season, with Somma not far behind! Some good news at last.

Rogers will be good if he can stay fit I think. And if Somma can perform from the beginning of matches, attacking wise I think we will be fine. If Diouf comes in aswell as much as I detest him as a footballer he'll be quality for the championship.

If Warnock thinks Kisnorbo is good enough not to be released he must think he can get more out of him than what Grayson did in the championship

You have to see it from Warnock's point of view...He's here for 1 season, to get us promoted. Whether the short term approach is right or wrong is immaterial for this discussion - Clayton is not good enough to start in a promotion winning midfield (although if he moves elsewhere and proves it, I stand corrected <ok>) and a 30 year old midfield, like Derry or whatever names are floating around, might well be. Warnock will want players that can perform week in, week out in championship NOW. He's only here for one season, so that's what he needs. He knows what he's doing! <ok>

But why does he have to be sold to facilitate the signing of someone better?

Warnocks said hes here for a year and he hasnt got time to wait around for Clayton to reach his potential,

He needs players that are good now!

I like his way of working

Don't get me wrong, I agree with that entirely, but that's an issue with money and wages and contract offers, and that leads back to Bates and Harvey...and as we're all well aware of what they're doing to the club, and we've been through it to death on here, I thought it was easier to overlook it for now. Purely in the sense that Warnock's obviously been given a wage budget, and he's working with that. Hence he didn't think Clayton was worth 9k p/w and transfer listed him. Whether the wage budget and transfer budget are big enough for our club is a different story
