Feeling great Elland. The lads played well. Lowering the prices wasn't rocket science by the owners to help bring fans back, but better football and performance will also help as well. Ist time in a while that I've woken up looking forward to the next game.
Morning all, It's important that we don't get carried away. Last night, we were at best workmanlike. The team put in a good shift, but style & consistency were lacking. You might not also realise that Paddy had more to do than Gilks! He made 2 first class saves that another keeper might have let in. Rosco & Varney put in decent shifts on the flanks, but sadly Varney let himself down as usual with the all-important final ball/attempts on goal sort of stuff. Not so much Reg Varney as Veg Varney. Might be a confidence thing, but how long do we give him to regain his confidence? Warnock's obviously going to play him every game, so fingers crossed! The other worrying thing for me is that Paddy knocked more balls forward than everyone else. We still seem to be passing the ball back to him too often, and hoping we can win it after he humps it forward. We're a long way away from having a passing game, believe me. One final thing that no-one's mentioned - that passback from the corner flag (almost) that Gilks picked up without us getting an indirect free kick in the box - anyone heard why we didn't get the decision? It was nailed on.
Regardless of the lack of Yorkshire representation, I can't be doing with the delusions of grandeur you Hull lot have had recently from the few seasons you've spent above us. Staying down
Good interview from Patel ... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xx...ew-on-yorkshire-radio-lufc_sport#.USYc8qXL7rA
Same one. Tell you what, I was impressed listening to Patel. He's clearly developing a good knowledge of the club, players, where we need strengthening, as you would expect. Some difference in listening to an eloquent, well spoken man to our previous clown who always sounded like he had his mouth stuffed with gobstoppers. They need to give more of these interviews. Good way of reassuring the fans. Hopefully they begin to realise that
The club email many of us every week, ith a bit of news about a player etc. Most of its always about buying something like tickets for a box and offers at Flamingo land ffs. Simple to have a section from a director each week giving us some news on what they've been doing this week and what they are focusing on and answering the odd rumor etc.
Last night really changes the complexion of the rest of the season. We're now 6 points off 6th with a game in hand and having shown what changing the pricing structure can do with our highest home league gate of the season coming on a freezing Wednesday night! Imagine what the attendance against Peterborough could be if we carry on with a play-off push!
Evening all - I was pleased we kept a clean sheet and it sounded like we played very well, the opposition was poor though but a win is a win and at least we wrapped this one up. Varney and Brown I don't care if neither play for us again, Varney missed far too many chances and Brown as a coach *yikes* I hope they keep him as far away from that area as possible, apart from hacking everyone to bits I am not sure what he could teach
Hull need promotion very badly, but with a Scummer in charge I hope you miss out. Of course, no promotion will mean huge financial difficulty for Hull, and with clubs unwilling to buy their overpaid players some dark days lie ahead. Same applies to Leicester and their expensive squad. Brown is done, bench is okay and bye bye end of season. Varney is erratic as fcuk, why not give Hall a run?
Howya Billy. Love your comments. I couldn't care less about the exploits of the other jealous yorkshire supporters of their clubs. But it does annoy me that after 40 + years of supporting our club that these fans bring up the fact that we weren't born in the locality.
Because Varney is almost vital to Colin's style of play. I can't stand Varney and I can stand Colin's style of play but if you were to play Hall there he would look terrible I reckon. The sole reason Varney is there is to flick headers into the centre
Jesus, Shaks, you've just made me realise how old I am! I'm in the 40+ years supporters club too. Head still thinks I'm a teenager, though!
By the way, highlights from the game
Doesn't worry me. I reckon the further away you live, makes you an even bigger fan. Harder and more expensive to get to games and requires greater effort to keep up with goings on or at least it did Pre Internet. Listening to games on bbc5 with birds whistling throughout. Remember that
As another member of the 40+ yrs club, its great listening on LUTV as I can't often get to games at home due to prior commitments. That said, hoping to get to Palace, Charlton, & Watford away before the end of the season. That said, if we need to beat Brighton in the penultimate game of the season to guarantee a top 6 finish, I'll forego the running & get up to ER sharpish
Eire yes I remember listening to the radio, FFs, that was brutal, so was the travelling on the boat from the north wall, thank f**k for ryanair.
