The takeover rumours seemed to start a couple of weeks ago. Suggesting that Bates was use no more of his, or the clubs money, to fund player deals/contracts etc, until it was all sorted out. This seems to make sense, what with us struggling to find £400k for one player, when the Pearce money was readily available without much hassle. Obviously though, as we've seen in the past, whether these rumours are true or not, we all know how difficult these processes may be and we've all seen how people will just use the club and a "takeover bid" to get publicity, when clearly they have no intention of taking over. In this sense the fact that it's out of the media can only be a good thing. If it's not true and Bates isn't unwell, then you can fully expect him to come out and make another of his ridiculous statements sometime this week.
Now that would be a great comeuppance- he has sp[ent his whole life shafting others and finally the global economy has said "Enough! Bates Out!" If Bates soon has two feet in the ground, it could go either way; his family needs to sell quickly to bring in money to continue to fund their lavish lifestyle or they see LUFC as a cashcow that will continue to fund their lavish lifestyle (if they are prudent with it and get rid of the loss-making elements) There is no reason to believe that his family would be the same as him.

A few (and rightly so) are worried about Huddersfield (33/1) finishing above us next season, but does anyone understand the current betting odds for the Championship title next year, which have us as 4th favourites at 10/1, behind Wolves, Bolton and Leicester? Now last season we were priced fairly at around 12/13th favourites at around 25/1 similar to the likes of Hull and Burnley, and we finished pretty much as expected in 14th, a couple of surprise teams above us including Derby and Watford and a couple of surprise teams below us with Ipswich and Forest massively underachieving.

I think a few get put off by the layout as they were used to the old style BBC set up which is extremley dated! Once you get used to this forum you wont look back. I often read JA but to be honest its childish. I love a laugh along with my football discusions but there are two many posters over there that seem to have personal vendettas against each other & a lot of Bull**** is chatted. Either that or PD turns it into some kind of gay porno thread Thats not directed at anyone who posts over there, especially as I have quite a few friends who do, just a personal opinon
