750k for Kasper and 150k for Lonners was a fantastic deal, but we can't pull those off all the time. Where's this news about imminent signings come from?
Simon, pretty sure SG has said that we are looking to make at least one more signing but hopefully 2 before the brum game. Apparantly they are signings that show real intent as well and we will be surprised about it What made me laugh when i read that SG interview was that he used the word surprised as if it should be a surprise that we are bringing in a good player that the other club actually wanted to keep.
I think Larry knows how he is being held back in the transfer market and knows how we feel about it. Andrews/Clingan and Smith/Lichaj, or one of those and a new CB, would please me.
To be honest he bashes himself, his positioning sometimes is woeful, if he could improve that he would be would be worth having.
I think a CB is a must, its wierd how we havn't dealt with this yet considering how far through the window we are
I know he's not the best, but I'm sick of hearing all the **** about him. At least he'll have a nice summer in the Euros, not bad for a **** player. When he started playing he was played as a midfield/striker.
I don't get the stick O'Dea gets on here. Sure, he's not as good as Lees, and probably isn't starting 11 for a play-off chasing side standard, but he's currently better than anyone else we have in that position (bar Lees, obviously) and I would happily keep him as back up to a new CB.
He does hard a hard time on here. I think when he has made an error, they have been big errors, and shown on live TV. He has scored a couple of vital goals for us let us not forget
The O'dea issue will run and run, I don't think he's that bad but he needs a good defensive midfielder in front of him. He seems to struggle when he has to make a decision on going for the ball or jockeying with the attacker. Maybe as an International he should know when to commit!
What we are all failing to understand is that what about the pot BEfORE these 2 were sold does that mean despite all his waffle it was EMPTY. So if we hadn,t sold anybody Simon would have not had any more for new playersthats thge crux of the matter
Sorry for trying to lighten up the mood. But we will never know where any money is going, unless some clever undercover journalist can find out. Bates is a dodgy ****, but the tax authorities haven't been able to catch him out, so how the **** can we.
Doesn't change the quality of the squad, because its still full of carp that Grayson bought and nobody else wants. So we have to sell our best players who cannot be replaced for the sort of money we've got. So players like Beckford, Johnsone, Kilkenney, Gradel, Howson should still be with us backed up by White, Lees, Clayton, Pugh, Becchio, Macormack & Somma. So not letting those players leave and just a couple of good additions sees us in the prem ....
