Well Rooney had two full seasons at Everton if I recall.
But, like I said, for every Rooney, there is a Carroll, Stewart, Johnson, Bent etc and a half dozen others who don't make it at the very top level.

There's a little bit of risk that this comes across as all Man City, buy the best young talent you can lay your hands on then let them rot in the reserves (even though they have the best academy anywhere in the world, ever <and don't even get me started on those ****ing magic fans>) but you really can see how the future would pan out for Kane.

Rooney remains number one/senior striker while Kane matures and learns his trade while getting ample opportunities. Two or three seasons time you have a phenomenal striker.

Little less that two I think. He was also 16 when he first burst onto the scene. Kanes a little older and a little further behind in his development.

If he repeats his exploits, hes going for 50million +. I think anyone who has a season like he did last year (way above any you mentioned and anything Rooney did at Everton), you have to take that risk.

30million and another 10million of bonuses if he fulfils his potential. Spurs wont be able to say no imo. Despite their usual posturing.

"Schnerilderin signed for utd too. ffs"

    "fúcking hate wenger

£8m a year but falls short to sign players that can win us the PL"

"Lalalalala can't hear you. Never wanted Schneiderlin. Arteta and Flamini can cover lalalalal"

Absolutely stunned Wenger didn't spend £25m on a backup /rotation option to Coquelin. Not like him at all that.

Yeah can't wait for him to say no one was available when Coq gets injured.

But that extra £8m on someone who would improve our squad.....far too much.

    Schneiderlin ain't all that.

Tbh none of our rivals signings have me worried

"Remember we are trying to close the gap on Chelsea who have done nothing. United are trying to close the gap on us" <laugh>

Why do some panicking already? Last year United signed Di Maria, Falcao and some saying they were competing for the title. Now they signed Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger and a nobody from the Italian Seria A.

The big problem for United will be that they have to put all together and the competition about places will be immense in midfield.

Schnerilderin signed for utd too. ffs

    Maybe replacement for Carrick?

even flamini could replace that overrated english príck

Agree about Kane being a good buy.

But I don't see his price being an obstacle. As long as Spurs are willing to sell him, we'll get him. United (Woodward!) have now seen sense. I couldn't believe how useless Woodward was when he came in. Trying to save a few millions here and there. He at least has learnt his lesson the hard way. He has found at last that United CANNOT get bargains and instead have premium prices slapped on.

If we want Kane we'll just have to pay the asking price. (unless of course it is something silly like £60m in which case we know Spurs want to keep him).

    Indeed.
Thats all anyone who has only ever had one season of football should ever be worth.
In an ideal world that would be the case, but with ****** Levy, combined with the fact that he is English, I cannot see them letting him go for any less than £40m.
And thats IF they decide to sell, which they probably won't, unless they are desperate for the cash.

    With Levy money talks.

If Woodward dangles the cash in front of him, starts counting

" OK Levy, turn your right palm up. Here is £20m. No? 21m, 22m...

When Woodie gets to £35m, Levy will say: "Ok he's yours!" (He sold a player worth £20m to United for £35m). The reality is that if Kane scores the goals, he'll be worth much more than that as a United player.

An extra 15m should never be a deal breaker. We've overpaid for every single player for the last 2 years and I can't it ending anytime soon.

Makes absolutely no sense having a 250k a week player playing back up.

Woody v levy is always going one way. Levy has no chance. Woodwards a stock dealer at the highest level. His stocks are now players.

Hes got the hang of this transfer stuff. Both incoming and outgoing. Hes bullying Real Madrid, taken the german captain and bayern hero from his home club for a bargain fee too.

I would hate us to get Kane, I think it could ruin him. The lad has just had two thirds of a great season at a club he loves, let him have another two years to mature and hone his talents then, if he is good enough, pay the money and see if he wants to move.

Two more seasons like last and hes going for 100million. Get him now while the price is low. He will become a better player at United than at Spurs. Not like he will have loads of competition.

I don't think so. Kane would be a brillant buy for us. He'll be an OT favourite and he is the archetypical young English player United used to buy. The Rooney's, Coles, Carricks.
