It's not the leaving...it's having them turning up in other strips and playing for other teams. They should only be sold to teams abroad.
Yep, this is true. As we know though, we should have even more cash now to add to the signings we were presumably going to make anyway, so I'm just going to be positive now and hope we get some good replacements in. Getting them all to gel and conform to Ron's style is my more pressing concern but I am not going to start thinking about that until we (hopefully) have the players in to do that with.
Don't like to be called that. I know a person that knows a few things now and again is all. DTLW knows far more info then me. But then he is a scummy journo......
Off thread but interesting. On Saints twitter, de Ridder's father said in an interview that his son is now playing in Copenhagen, but that he learnt a lot from his two years at SFC and Saints will always be in his heart. Nice to hear. I know we didn't get what we expected from de Ridder, but nice.
Chambers. I can accept you chose clyne over him (although i wouldn't) but the guy is class and will be the next big player from 'the conveyor belt' to have big clubs saying it's only a matter of time.
I'm hopeful an academy lad is going to step up this season and become a regular Chambers JWP Reed McQueen Gallagher With crisis comes opportunity
They seem to really rate McQueen...gave him the chance to recover and then gave him a long contract. Chambers and JWP are already first team regulars. Hoping Gallagher can step up and work in tandem with JRod (when he recovers). Targett....some seem to think he's the bee's knees, whereas others have expressed doubts....views?
So if we don't sign Timmy Kolo or someone of that calibre, we could start Clyne at LB, Chambers at RB, and Targett on the bench. Then we have cover for both full backs as Nat can move across should Chambers get a knock.
then we're still relying on our best RB (imo) as back up or first choice LB. in terms of bench efficiency it's good but in terms of losing two players from first choice positions if a full back gets injured, it's asking for trouble.
I really hope so. Not seen as much of him as I would like, but what I have seen as been very impressive.
