Any team would miss a Morgan...let's hope he grows up and doesn't find out what the club can do if he doesn't turn out on Monday.
My mind IS made up . I want him to stay ,and I think we will convince him to stay for at least this season . but if he goes I will wish him well . Also to the poster who mentioned the offer . If that's all we will get , then yes . Let him go .What else in REALITY are we going to do ? .................
In this case YES ( hold out for more of course , but if that is the final offer so be it ) . I really have some sympathy for Morgan here . I am in a majority of ONE , but I really don't give a **** if others don't understand my point .
Nice tone Jasper! So you'd accept £10m for him and let him go? I think that would be awful for the club. Jayrod will do exactly the same in January. Morgan has been told the situation; he is a professional and needs to get his head down and get on with it. If he has a blinder for us for 6 months, his suitors will be willing to pay the money. We can not just throw our hands to and take short change.
Koeman has hinted at punishment if Morgan doesn't turn up on Monday, so he obviously believes the club has some power. Dragged on a tumbril round the city perhaps with fans issued with soggy tomatoes.
Well we can fine him. Whether we can afford to keep him and not play him is another matter. We don't want him around the squad if he is going to be bad for the dressing room. We may have to send him on loan(preferably abroad)
Makes me laugh . All this Keep him , let him rot . BULL **** . We have sold the others , why not him ? Oh yes ! not enough money offered . Offer enough whoever & We will sell . So much for standing firm . If we are not a selling club , why sell the others ? MONEY - simples !! Of all the players bar Lambert , Morgan owes us NOTHING . And contracts are worthless ( sadly ) in this modern era.......
I think the club needs to look after itself after a tumultuous spell. I think that is what they are doing. Morgan needs to show some maturity and get on with it. Maybe he will get his move, but not now, and not for a pittance. He doesn't need to rot, he needs to play football for what he is handsomely paid to do, but he needs to do this for SFC. Next year is another year. He may of made an assumption that he could get a move because of the others, but its not all his decision is it.
The club cannot back down now...Krueger and Koeman have both said MS is not leaving. JRod has taken it on the chin (or at least in public he has...which is all we can ask), so Morgan has to man up. It isn't in his interest (with regard to the France squad) for him to not play. The best he can negotiate for now is a promise he can leave next summer if he settles down and does his best...that may allow both sides to save face.
Nothing to do with this discussion in reality, but please have a think about your space bar/punctuation ratio...!
*Minority Anyway, you're mad. If Spurs don't reach our value, we don't sell. That's how it to is for everyone. Tough **** for Morgan that Spurs don't value him as highly as Utd valued Shaw or Liverpool valued Lallana.
I don't see it as being a case of us not being able to afford him not to play. Yeah, maybe he goes on strike until the end of August. He then has a choice of whether to buckle down and get playing again, or screw up his career. If he plays well for us again this season, then he might get a far better club than Tottenham after him. Plus if he is refusing to play/train, surely we must be able to withold his wages/fine him? So him being on strike shouldn't cost us anything.
I do know where you're coming from really and you're not thinking too much different from everyone else. The fact is that Morgan is a nice guy and if we can turn his ear away from spurs and his agent I think we could persuade him to stay. He is a better player than any of those that left so us worth fighting for.
You need to calm down and start trying to make sense Jasper. The club are standing firm on Morgan and YOU declared we should just sell him. Time for you to make up your mind.
