New Morecambe manager Jim Bentley is expecting to sign two more new signings to his squad in the coming days, reports local newspaper The Visitor. Bentley secured the signature of Macclesfield Town youngster Izak Reid on a two-year contract over the weekend. Now he hopes to add a couple more players to his squad in quick succession. The Shrimps boss said: âIzak is a great addition to the squad and I am really hopeful that another couple will join us by the weekend. âI have been talking to one player who can play wide or up front and another who is an extremely experienced midfielder. âI have spoken at length to both players and shown them around the Globe and they were both really impressed by what the club has to offer. âBoth have said they are keen to sign and it would be great to have those deals done by the weekend with the players reporting back for training next week.â New signing Reid, aged 23, came through the Silkmen's youth ranks before making 150 appearances for the club.
Yes the two identified seem to be Gary Mcdonald & Ben Burgess but not sure that Burgess will sign. Mcdonald played with Haining in his days at Oldham so this is possibly the reason Jim identified him. Seems a good midfield player who can score goals from distance, i.e. against Everton & can play at a higher level than league two. Ben Burgess another experienced pro but don't know if this is just a rumour still.
Two more new signings tonight. Lewis Alessandra & Gary Mcdonald. Two more ex Oldham players to our squad.
