I think you're splitting a very thin hair ! Suarez was charged by the FA with racism. He did not dispute the charge. He was found guiltyand was punished for his offence. Now if that isn't CONVICTION for you perhaps you'd like to ask Suarez for the outcome of the matter. Found guilty / convicted - much the same thing when reading the bottom line - if you pay a parking fine you aren't necessarily convicted by a criminal court but are guilty of the offence and it's still the same money out of your pocket.
