I'm liking the assertive, revitalised Captain, praising the work ethic, players, staff, support, well everything really! Just what we need in the squad, a no brainer we need to get him signed up, best run club....

Markus Henriksen has praised the work ethic in the Hull City camp and believes the Club’s impressive revival has been ‘a team effort’ from both players and staff.
Nigel Adkins’ side were in the bottom three of the Sky Bet Championship table in late November following a 2-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, but seven wins and three draws in their ten league games since now sees the Tigers just two places and six points off the play-off spots.

And club captain Henriksen insists everyone deserves credit for the team’s impressive recent form.

“Everyone works so hard and from the staff, young players and experienced players, it really is a team effort,” he said.

“You see it on the pitch but if you come to the training ground you really see the work ethic from everyone – and that has been key.

“The positivity in the camp is very good and a lot of credit must go to the gaffer, Andy Crosby, Tony Pennock and the rest of the coaching staff.

“The work they have done with us has been top drawer. They never once changed their approach, way of thinking or how they wanted the team to play – even when results weren’t going our way – and we are now flourishing because of that.

“We have come a long way since the start of the season and results have obviously been a lot better of late. Importantly, we have added consistency to our performances as well, which has been a key factor in this run.

“However, whilst we are feeling very positive right now, it is important to keep our feet on the ground and remain focused. We have to stay calm because we still have plenty of games still to play.

“We didn’t think we would be in the position we find ourselves in now two or three months ago, but things can turn very quickly in football and it is nice to be where we are in the table at the moment.

“It is very good to be looking up rather than down, but we know how important it is to keep going and keep pushing forward.”

Henriksen also spoke of his desire to give the Club’s ‘excellent’ fanbase a team they can be proud of, adding: “We know it has been a bumpy, bumpy ride here – especially since I arrived at the Club – but I think we are now starting to show real signs of promise.

“The fans have a key role to play and the atmosphere at our last few games at the KCOM Stadium – particularly against Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday – has been excellent.

“They’ve got behind the team brilliantly and hopefully we can continue to give them something to cheer about for the remainder of the season.

“Ultimately, as a group of players and staff, we want to show on the field that this is a Club and team that the supporters can be proud of.”
