The government have done it again.
They've laid bare opportunities for the media, Starmer and co and every other naysayer to criticise between now and the new year.

To be honest they bloody deserve it.
Testing and tracing is key. At the start we were getting a 'World class' system within weeks. It's still not world class.
Now with 'Moonshot' and tests for all and results in minutes by Christmas is a fantastic hope but more likely dreamland.
I like positivity but come on don't set a Moonshot target when you've failed, with the best intentions, to deliver previous promises.
Keep your mouthes shut, work hard and deliver.
Forget the buzzwords.

They started off albeit a bit late on lockdown well on the coronavirus. But since the Dom Jolly’s to Durham seem to kick themselves in the bollocks at every opportunity.

It’s because Johnson is an absolute clown, who has surrounded himself with a bunch of talentless nodding yes-men. Meanwhile, creepy misfit weirdo Cummings is working Bojo with his foot, determined to turn the dis-United Kingdom into a banana republic. We’re ****ed, the good ship Britannia is holed beneath the waterline, and every single thing the government does seems designed to make the situation worse.

Can't help but agree. The formation of the cabinet was less about talent and more about being pro-Brexit. Not that I'm trying to get drawn into that discussion, but if you do that, you're ultimately not going to have the best government available to you. Absolute shambles.

I sincerely hope they can sort themselves out, but I highly doubt it.

You ought to base yourself on this board for a few weeks. You will find that this thread will turn into another Brexit debate. Good luck I will be rooting for you.

Boris Johnson is a puppet of Cummings. He’s an embarrassment and to be honest, with this bungling shambles of a government, coupled with the BLM and Extinction Rebellion lot causing chaos and the orgy of self-loathing they have spread into our psyche I feel that the whole COUNTRY is an embarrassment. Don’t get me going on Wee Jimmy and the Scottish Nazi party stabbing us with their tiny knives and their policies of hate either.
I want to feel some pride in my country I really do, but right now I feel mostly shame.
I can’t wait to retire and get out.

<laugh> Oh goody, more Brexit debates

Actually, not for me thanks. I’m just going to sit back and watch it all unfold; going well so far

..... in the absence of LJ now you’re probably right!!
I’d almost forgotten about Brexit - have we done all our wonderful shackle-free trade deals yet? You don’t see much positivity in the news these days I could do with something happy to think about over the weekend....

subject matter for our soon to be restricted coffee morning bit like the snow white and 7 dwarf's... lol …
the above was sort of gently lambasted whilst ……..

this statement had us all rolling around on the floor in stitch's … consensus was this is the attitude of a clown that is prevailent in our present circumstance and a totally bitter anti government bigot that hopefully might...[ rest is censured! lol ]

RP's COMMENT's … testing and tracing is ……. well [applies to those in coffee morning] ask yourself in your lifetime have "we" ever aimed for something, made a boast about it and either failed or not achieved the ultimate aim? …. the answer is a resounding YES. Does it /did it work to a positive degree ….. answer is Yes … Did it lay the base for a modified / similar attribute answer yes … importantly did it happen "overnight" answer is NO … so the conclusion to test and trace is ongoing.

Now with 'Moonshot' and tests for all and results in minutes by Christmas …… pretty much the same as T & T... but more intense in so much as it aiming to do something never been done before [ concept has testing ] but never on a scale to almost test the whole population in a short period of time. Already the concept is in being, take sport etc, footballers /cyclists etc. ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY! … the railways pre beeching took years … getting to the moon took decades …. what is the mitigating factor …………. infrastructure and people …..

I like positivity but come on don't set a Moonshot target when you've failed, with the best intentions, to deliver previous promises … RP ...positivity! there was a few smiles[ actually more like giggles..lol …. your statement is contradictory, failed with best intentions [ non specific but taken as your take on T & T ]
Again it is an ask yourself …. COVID -19 … HAVE WE HAD IT BEFORE? big question, NO.
How many of the government are medically trained ? maybe the odd one or 2
How many of the government have had to deal with an outbreak like this more virulent than any before … none
How many of the government are able to advise what the best plan might be without outside help? … none in reality
How many of the government are positive that what they do unassisted will combat the problem? …. none in reality
How many of the government are hopeful the outside advice will help …. all as what else is there

THE BASELINE REALITY IS …..
we can all mock the efforts of those trying to find a solution, but without failures there is usually no success. Spoiling the ship for an ' appenth of tar has never been more apt, the non compliers are those that are sinking the ship …. undermining the efforts of the people trying to get control and putting at risk the very people who are taking care of those that needlessly become infected.
We are all responsible for our own safety … AND ENHANCED BY THE ADVISE meted out to help us ……..

come on BCRW... your memory cant be that short … we play Coventry tomorrow.....

I didn't mean to mention Brexit <laugh> I just meant that it was topical because that was seemingly the only pre-requisite he wanted for forming his cabinet, who have ultimately turned out to be crap!
