@bbcsport_oliver Also from lotus : Team Lotus Good morning from Montreal - race day! It's wet here! (though stopped raining now). The fans are pouring in, and we even saw some mounties! Go Canada!
lol who the hell is oliver? Thanks for the update sportydan. So it's stopped raining for now, and there's quite a bit of action on the track before F1 so hopefully conditions won't be too bad by the time the race starts 07:00 - TRACK OPENS 08:15 - 09:00 FORMULE 1600 SECOND RACE 09:05 - 09:50 PORSCHE IMSA GT3 CUP 10:05 - 10:50 FERRARI CHALLENGE RACE SECOND RACE 11:30 - FORMULA 1 DRIVERS PARADE 12:30 - 12:45 FORMULA 1 STARTING GRID PRESENTATION 13:00 - FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DU CANADA (71 LAPS INCLUDING FORMATION LAP)
Lee McKenzie just reported on twitter that:- Rain falling harder now at the circuit. EJ still not shifting from his dry set up ie: white jeans!
So what cars perform better in the wet. I would assume Ferrari will enjoy it as they have good mechanical grip. Red Bull less so as they have more of a reliance on aerodynamic grip, slower speeds caused by slippy track will reduce speed and therefore aerodynamic grip. please log in to view this image
Don't know how good this place is, but here's a radar of rain heading towards Montreal. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/maps/caqc0363?ref=rlink_weather_satrad Rain is said to finish before the race and a big batch of rain misses the end of it.
