After getting Cazorla, hopefully we built good connections with Malaga, and should they want to sell again, we could be in there.
I think Malaga would be pretty pissed with us, we did sort of steal Cazorla from them. If he keeps playing the way he is now, he's worth over 30 million.
We were incredibly lucky, he could have cost us 2 goals easily. He will be exposed badly against a quality opposition, leopard does not change his spots.
Because the French Champions aren't a quality side. Especially on their own backyard in their 1st CL game against a returning from a knock Diaby.
One negative I have from today's game is the substitutions, it was clear as daylight that many of the players out there were tired, and yet we only made one sub, and made the final 2 right at the end of the game. We should have made the 3 subs at the 70 minute mark, to freshen things up, we have City coming next, and I don't think it was a wise decision to keep so many of our main players for the full 90 minutes when they were clearly tired. Should've subbed off Podolski, Gerivno, and Diaby.
You could have said that about any one of our defenders, the whole team tired badly in the 2nd half. Diaby put in a very good shift last night and showed some moments of brilliance in the first half. I don't think your criticism of him is justified to be honest. He has done really well so far this season and deserves some credit.
If we finish top of our group, we are seeded to play any team (that are not from the EPL) who finished runners up in their group and vice versa.
Its our First European game and we need to get off to a good start and carry the confidence to CashCity . Subs should have been used nonetheless, at least rest Diaby, Carzola and Poddy.
There are always excuses for Diaby. Now he was returning from a knock... A knock! He was RESTED. He could play against Southampton, but he was rested and he was fresh. Nevertheless he could easily cost us TWO goals. First, when he tried to dribble across our own penalty box (what the hell he was doing!) and lost the ball - a better opposition would surely punish us, it was a miracle they did not score. And then his tackle in the dying minutes in the penalty box was a stone cold penalty - it was worse than Vermaelen's. Diaby always was and still is a disaster waiting to happen.
Everybody is an expert! So we won and you think Bould was wrong. You invent a fantasy where IF he had substituted players, we MIGHT have won, and you somehow make that as real as the FACT that he did not make substitutions, and we ACTUALLY won. I think the only conclusion we can draw from the game is that we won and no early substitutions were made. There is no way anyone can claim that Bould SHOULD have done anything else, or say with any certainty what WOULD have happened if he had done something else.
