Bit harsh that you've written a guy off and it's not even the end of September. Granted he's not been great and tonight he was completely lost, but when he did get the ball he moved it on quickly and showed good touches. I think tonight was always gonna be hard for him as Montpellier know how much of a threat he can be and how to play him, so I don't blame him for not doing much, but he did get an assist on the Podolski goal with a flick through. That alone is enough to not give the guy a 3. You've got to be a bit more patient- not everyone settles early and we can't really write him off just yet.
OK, fine. I'll give him until the end of the month, if he's not improved, then i'll question the wisdom in starting him. Ignore all i've said above, it's now irrelevant. Giroud is awesome, and everyone needs to know it.
steady on , its a bit early for that. I thought we showed great spirit, technical ability , mental strength etc etc .
If i was pretending to be 18, i'd have had cider or alcopops or whatever it is kids drink these days. P.S. Did you know, Olivier Giroud is bloody incredible.
Difficult game for Giroud, every time he got the ball there were 2 or more Montpellier players straight on him. That player with his collar up like Cantona, forget his name was diving all over the place
Cabella, horrible little cheat, but to be fair, I thought he was their best player and maybe the best player on the pitch.
Watching the highlights on ITV and Arsenal were VERY lucky to win that one. Props to Mannone, who may have been lucky, but has only conceeded a penalty in his games so far. Not sure who I'd prefer in goal against City as Mannone seems to have the luck right now, but we know Chesser is a class keeper.
The team wasn't as good as normal tonight after the first half, but Arteta was one of the most unaffected IMO.
