Thats always a possibility that Vorm could stay and if so then a great bit of business by the club , thats as along as we're not back in the situation of a player being promised to play in x amount of games as per Ki .He gets a picked as it should be, on merit not on pre contractual statements .Are we getting fussy now as to who we sign ?, an experienced International footballer with age on his side coming to a club 3 years ago he probably hadn't even heard of ,I'm not belittling anyones concerns but just raising another debatable point . Please feel free to discuss .

I agree with most of this Boundy. But, why shouldnt we set our sights high. If we are looking to improve on last year ten our signings need to be an improvement on what we have. 32 PL games in nearly 7 years doesnt smack of a lot of experience in the PL. I do agree as a challenge to Vorm (if he stays) I agree that it would look a tidy signing.
Didnt HJ say I am only going to bring players in who are better than the ones in the team. Not sure he has followed though with that comment.

I can't comment as to why he's played so little 1st team football ,wrong timing for him , better players in front of him ( either proven or perceived by the manager ) or is he just poor, time will tell .We do need to improve on the position as Vorm just doesn't look like he's interested anymore which is a pity because as we all know how good he can be & Tremmell has gone into bit of a shell so I wouldn't be surprised if he and Cornell ( who hasn't really pushed for his place in the squad ) move on .leaving opportunities to bring in another keeper such as McCarthy
I agree we should aim as high as possible but as we know we'll always maintain a firm grip in the financial aspects with a possible negative impact on what players we bring in .Monk has identified one aspect which needs addressing and has acted promptly based on his beliefs and knowledge and I'm sure that we'll be having other discussions regarding the new faces be bought and the ones leaving .

I am sure there will be a lot more discussions and no doubt there will be some who agree and some who dont. He is here now and we have to get on with it and hope he is the real deal. Still not convinced. Mr f please prove me wrong.

A massive team like Arsenal wont just have one good keeper they will have 4 or 5. Big teams like that will have a keepers just as good as their first choice in case of injuries and they pay them well. you don't become a big side at the top of the premiership every season with just one good keeper <laugh>

The fact is that even though he hasn't played much first team football at Arsenal, you don't stay at a club like Arsenal for 7 years without having talent. For two or three years, maybe a keeper could steal a wage off a top club without being that good at his job. Maybe. But 7 years? They obviously saw something in him to keep him that long, and don't forget that they wanted to keep him longer, it was Lukasz that decided to run his contract down and leave. It's easy to look at his appearance stats and assume that he must be rubbish. That's a little short-sighted in my opinion.

I'm pleased with the signing - it's nice that we have signed a "name". The last few months has seen a negative cloud over the Club and I feel it is a much needed boost.

For his faults, Fabianski is coming from a Champions League Club and has Champions League experience and is an FA Cup Winner. On the downside he hasn't had much football over the last seven years. This is his big chance to be a number 1 keeper and he should improve with regular football. He is hungry for it, so let's see how he goes <ok>

Possibly another one or two will break into the 1st team squad next season ?
. . . the future's bright at the Liberty as club looks to nurture young talent

Swansea City has offered contract extensions to eight of the club’s young professionals.
Alex Bray (18), Sam Evans (19), Kenji Gorre (19), Alex Gogic (20), Ryan Hedges (18), Henry Jones (20), James Loveridge (20) and Kurtis March (21) have all been offered contract extensions.
The club can also confirm that Jernade Meade (21) has been released.
Five of the club’s Youth Academy scholars - Corey Francis, Tom Atyeo, Joseph Jones, Alex Samuel and Connor Roberts - were also offered their first one-year professional contracts recently.

We would not risk putting him on a 4 year contract if he has not proved his worth. Arsen rated him highly and tried his best to keep him but he needed a change and we look the perfect club for him. I think vorm needed a change also and good luck to him, He is a hell of a nice guy and i can only see him getting better with a bigger club...I do feel sorry for tremmell as i think he is a good keeper also and maybe he will want to try his hand somewhere where he will get more games.

Being a split gooner and jack - I have seen Fabianski play (all be it on TV) many times, and he is a good keeper. Remember - he was number 2 to Szeney, and no 3 was Vito Mannone who aint done too badly at Sunderland!

I think he is an excellent signing on a free - especially if Vorm is looking to depart to partures new!

I with my selfish hat on would like to see vorm stay even though he has dropped down the rankings by a huge amount for keepers in the premiership last season, He did not produce his best form thats for sure but with us signing Fab on a 4 year deal and listening to his comments then i do feel that one or the other with vorm and tremmell wont be with us at the start of the season and if i was to bet then i would say vorm will go. My reason being is will vorm be able to handle another international keeper challenging him for the No1 choice and what that could do to his international career if Fab gets the nod over him, With fab it wont make much difference as he was No2 at arsenal and because poland are a small country it never effected his selection....

Vorm cool on exit reports Swansea City, Latest news update: 4 hours 9 minutes ago Michael Vorm says he didn't expect Swansea to sign Lukasz Fabianski but claims it doesn't mean he will definitely leave this summer. The Netherlands international is the current number one at the Liberty Stadium but could find his mantle challenged by new arrival Fabianski, who has signed a four-year contract after his deal with Arsenal expired. While Vorm could remain south Wales for next season, the signing of Fabianski is expected to bring about the end of the 30-year-old's time with the Swans. Speculation has been rife that Liverpool are ready to pay £10million for Vorm's services and the shotstopper admits he is open to offers. However, he has dismissed the notion that he is definitely leaving Swansea, claiming he will be happy to fight it out with Fabianski for a spot in the first team if it comes to that. "I didn't know they were planning to sign him, I can honestly tell you," Vorm told reporters in the Netherlands. "But at Swansea City I can see the club is growing and there is competition for everyone and that also applies to me. "Fabianski was a free agent, which I understood and he has signed for four years and the present situation is that I will be there after the summer so I have competition. "It may be that Swansea are already responding to my departure but then there must be (an offer). As long as that is not the case, Fabianski and I will have to fight. I do not necessarily have to leave. "Of course, if I can make a big step then I may do that. We will have to see in the coming weeks."

£10m for Vorm? Surly even Liverpool wouldn't pay that much.

Why not ,he's good at what he does ( on occasion admittedly recently ) an international with a few years left in front of him so if so what a fantastic business by the club but I'd prefer to keep him myself .

I'd like Vorm to stay but if Liverpool offer £10million, can we really turn that down?
