Let's forget the ML v GM issue for a second - You have to admit that Monk has done better than you expected?

If we beat Saints? Then you can colour me impressed.

To be honest, no. I have full faith in Monk, and was expecting him to win the Palace and West Brom games. They are the biggest disappointments for me, however the Arsenal and Liverpool games were very good.

I never once doubted our survival, not even under ML, and that never changed under Monk. But he didn't do as well as I had hoped given the home games against bottom half clubs, and that's my honest opinion. As I have shown, ML did better against the bottom clubs away from home, so we should be expecting to beat them at home. Had ML have had the same bad results at home to Palace and West Brom, then I would be saying the same, just like I did with Hull home being **** for ML. And how poor we were at West Ham. I haven't forgot those games, but I also haven't forgotten the good games either, such as the two Man City games, which is no different to the Liverpool game under Monk, we played with fight, a purpose, we were not scared. There is no difference for me between the two. Both have had great games, mediocre games and piss poor games. I only ever bother getting out the ML v Monk comparison when people try to claim the decision to sack ML was the right one and that Monk is the saviour sort of bullshit. Because its far fromt he truth if anyone wants to actually open their eyes and look properly.

Its not, and has never been an ML v Monk debate for me, I have and had faith in both. I just don't like how some seem to give ML crap for his form, but not acknowledge the fixture list was a big reason for that. Or trying to justify the sacking by Monk beating bottom half clubs.

A perfect example is Dai saying we now have nothing to play for so the guys can relax, as if to say our season is over, so the result doesn't actually matter, yet he was the first to criticise us last season for our poor end of season form, when you can't deny our season was over, we were safe from relegation, we had won the cup, we had nothing to play for. So why the difference? That's what I don't get, and why I try to stick up for our past manager, because I don't like how some of our fans seem to **** on what he did for us. Yet glorify our current manager when they really are pretty damn similar in regards to recent results.

I do of course side slightly with ML, as ML had a horrid fixture list along with the added Europa commitments, and whether some like it or not, we did have an injury crisis in Dec/Jan, which added to the problems, problems which ML didn;t help with due to wanting to keep a small squad, but like I said he isn't perfect, never was, and never will be. And I have always believed ML would have kept us up, and if I am being honest, I was expecting him to have ended up with more than 15 points from the last 12 games. And thats not a dig at Monk, but its my honest opinion, you can check my post history, I have never once been worried about relegation, because we had an easIER (sorry vetch :p) fixture list compared to the others down the bottom, which can be seen in some topics I created explaining this reasoning too

...not forgetting Monk hasn't achieved anything yet whereas ML delivered Europe and a Cup.

But you honestly couldn't see us surviving - so Monk must have done better than you first thought?

Huh where did you get that from.....

"I never once doubted our survival, not even under ML" - Where have I said "I honestly couldnt see us surviving?"

I said he hasn't done as well as I had expected, that means I expected us to have more points, not be relegated. Im confused where you got that idea from.

If I said it on the day that ML got sacked (im guessing thats what your trying to say, apologies if its not), then Monk was not in charge, so it was probably more down to the shock of ML being sacked rather than anything to do with Monk.

However still does not escape the fact that on the day there was a lot of shock, heck throw in a bit of anger too if you like. Hell I am still a bit pissed off that we sacked ML.

He achieved that on the back of Rodgers team, he had not even settled in properly and the team was still playing Rodgers way when we won the cup, It was from that day when his ego took over and he thought he could do better and started to change the way we play to his own way that f**ked everything up. we ended the season as the worst team and the way fulham walked all over us having not won for months told a huge story that laudrup was not the manager for us. Look at his theory for the new season knowing we were in europe and the cups and the league to contend with that he ignored all advice and chose a squad far to small for a big club let alone a club of our size, we he was proved wrong we did suffer with his incompetence and he had to pay the price, The writing was on the wall as far as i was concerned that he would not last the season and i was not the only one either and we were right. He was just not good enough for top flight football and as for him ever managing a big club then he will have a long wait as no big club would entertain him.

ML is history - get over it! Monk will get the job next season and I will be 100% behind him, as will most of the players!

I was a ML fan and am eternally grateful for everything he did for us, but he is no longer our manager - Garry is! And he ain't done a bad job - he has sweated blood for SCFC - taking training sessions and then watching and analysing the videos of those sessions into the early hours! He has got us back to playing passionately and it seems most of the players, as well as King Curt are 100% behind him, and that is enough for me to believe that he deserves a chance to remain in the job next season; if it goes well we have a manager who will stay with us for the long term - not viewing the job as a stepping stone to bigger things!

He may fail next season, but I am prepared to give him the chance to give us some managerial stability - if he is successful he will be a fixture for years to come - the guy lives and breathes SCFC and there is no one more passionate about the club.

So let's get behind Garry, can't fault his commitment or his ability to motivate the team, and think he deserves a chance!

Just because you call swansalona a laudrup drama queen doesnt make it true , it only says you said it. Try reading what he says instead of having the same answer memorized
