Our first 16 games wasn't sinking in the Premier , on the contrary .Look at the reasoning for 36 points in that 38 game "picked" time line

Hi All

My pennys worth is that while Garry Monk has the passion for the job, he's totally inept at tactics. Id rather Tatey as a manager. Garry Monk is not a tactician! Passion gets you so far, but, the way we have played the game since Martinez, needs a continental approach.

Im not going to chuck out names, but im sure there are many new retired continental players that understand the way we play, and have played under the best managers of passing football that would cut their arms off to ply their trade with Swansea.

As Southampton produce new playing talent, we seem to be choosing the new managers who are doing well in the PL.

HJ and the board must be picking the next one, because Monk isnt the answer long term.

Your including 10 games last season after the Cup win and we already had 40points. Your also including a 9 game run against the top teams over the holidays with a miserable injury run . Thats half those 38 games. Monks 5 points have come from playing Cardiff , Stoke , Liverpool , Palace and West Brum , with a pretty healthy squad.

No Chico, no Dyer, a half-fit Michu - yep, a pretty healthy squad yesterday. Also who decided to run with a small squad size?

When did we get 40 points last season?

I'm over Laudrup and that stupid decision, the board needs to relief its mistake and act now, Monk needs to go asap. There must be a load of experienced people who could step in until the end of the season. Either get someone in or give Curt the job till the end of the season.
Monk out, and monk out now!

Out of curiosity, but where has Curts 'experience' been? He seems as clueless as Monk in the tactical area.

Valley if its as people are saying here the team and tactics pick themselves, Lee Trundle might as well take over for the remainder or how about Kevin John? He,s 100% Jack.

Monk is an inept second rate centre half, when are people going to realise it? Div 1?

Alex Ferguson wasn't exactly a first rate player. Playing ability isn't a necessary prerequisite to succeed as a Manager. That said, I'm NOT suggesting that Monk will be a good - let alone great - Manager!

I'd rather Zola. Don't know why the **** the baord haven't approached him <grr>

We had 40 points after the Newcastle game , a game after winning the Cup and we had 10 games remaining . We had a few players out yesterday , what about the other 4 Premier league games . We were also out of both Cup competitions in the least amount of games.ps, I want Monk to stay for the rest of the season by the way, no probs with Monk managing actually , weve been abit unlucky imo

Well, he did play for Rangers in front of 60,000 people every week and they were one of the biggest clubs in the world back then, at a time when their rivals ,celtic were winning european cups , so thats not strictly true .

Monk played in front of almost 80,000 at Wembley and if it wasn't for his block, we may not be where we are now.

Yes but that was as a player , not in any way ignoring his attributes as a player but this is totally different situation and one I believe he's not capable of dealing with ,If it's true as to what Ivor has alluded to in that he conspired to get Laudrup removed then he'll have gone down in my estimation and as the old saying goes " be careful what you wish for" the situation that the club could find itself in has huge ramifications for the future if the worse was to happen doesn't bear thinking about .I hope he succeeds but we're in precarious position now with ,more experienced teams/mangers who have dealt with fighting to stay in the league ,we haven't either and that could be the difference between us .
