Jacket was our manager too, until the fans got on his back, and away he went, so we do have a say, and if he doesn't resolve our slump in performance since the cup of last year, then he will be gone as well, that I'll guarantee you!....................
If monk is manager we will struggle. you are stating a fact here Norway. How do you know we will struggle when nobody on this planet will know yet..
How do you we wont dai, All anyone can say is if he carries on the way he has this year then i fear we will struggle and GM will be gone. I hope i am proved wrong.
We have a 90 day window of experience to draw from. A 90 day demonstration of game management, tactics, team selection (Lita), and team performance metrics to analyse. If the last 90 days carries over into next season we're ****ed.
Fair play, thick as two short planks, where have i stated that as a fact ? Its my opinion nothing more but its based on the 16 or so games he has had in charge with a fully fit team .
15 points from 13 PL games translates to a 40-45 point season, so that would suggest we won't be f**ked. That's the main statistic, which you have conveniently overlooked. We're all going round in circles...again.
Not sure this is true actually. Many aren't really questioning Laudrup's departure though the way it was handled was appalling by anyone's standards. The concern is about his replacement. It does make me laugh that daiswan seems like the type to complain about everything the Club does from the boardroom down to the tea lady but is now preferring the mantra of 'who are we to question the Board? They know best.'
Thats this season. What I am worried about is we are asking a man to put a squad together to survive another PL season. When he has never put a squad together. Never signed a player. Never had to even think about it. He has done wellish with Laudrups team. Its a whole name ball game having the know how and pull to replace the inevitable departures at the end of this season. Better managers than him have tried and been unable to do it.
I thought that at first (not talking about Dai here lol) but there is an element on this board that vehemently refuse to agree that even before the injuries the signs of poor form there. The manner in which he was sacked didn't make that much of an impact on our clubs reputation, the vast majority of paper talk was about Laudrup being sacked and not how he was sacked.
I don't see why were all arguing about this we all want what's best for our club, some are in favour of Monk and some are not we all have our own opinions on the why's and wherefores etc. But each person is entitled to have an opinion, were not inn North Korea where free speech is frowned upon. Now my opinion is that Monk is the wrong person to take us forward, I don't think he has the credentials or skill to even keep the Status Quo. But thats my opinion, we shall see what transpires from the club.
Sorry guys but Monks "form" has been skewd in terms of us playing a load of well beatable teams with a fully fit squad . Hull Palace Norwich Villa Newcastle WBA Cardiff With the players we have and a budding world class Bony up front i would say our form should be better againt these teams. Its fair to not compare Monks games with Laudrups and its just plain daft to say his average means we are on for 40-45 pt season haul , what if the team suffers a bad run of form and has a massive injury list like this year ? Thats your stat gone right there . As i said before if Monk has the job then good luck to him,he gets my support and i will be happy to see him do well but i think he will struggle, just my personal view
Norway, how can Monk's "form" be skewed when he's also had to play Liverpool away, Everton away, Arsenal away and Chelsea at home. It's a perfectly normal set of fixtures he's had to contend with. By the time he's faced Sunderland, the 5 teams he hasn't had to play will be Man City, Tottenham, Man Utd, West Ham & Fulham. It would be 'daft' to try and predict a projected total for the whole season based on 3 or 4 games, but after 13 we should be getting a decent indication of what he's capable of - and that is 40-45 points. What if the team 'suffers' a good run of form, what if he gets Michu back firing on all cylinders, what if his results improve as he gains more experience. Everything works both ways. Just my personal view
There is a list of the top ten wanted managers in the summer and im afraid laudrup is nowhere to be seen. Strange don't you think or is it that he has been found out as not really top manager material....and he is out of work too...
On mathematical statistics you are correct but if you have to consider the games. Villa, Norwich and Cardiff were appalling opponents and we were just better than them
