You should have watched the U21's last night , there were some cracking 1st time crosses whipped in from either flank .That is a skill to be able to do with accuracy at pace but it can be done and if the U21's can do it then why can't the seniors at least practice it.

It's not even a particularly hard skill. I could put 9/10 crosses in the right area on Sundays every week first-time or not/under pressure or not and frankly I was a sh1t right back :s

It just takes time practising, and I am constantly baffled that professional footballers throughout the country seem to find it so hard to get right.

PS. Good to hear the youngsters are able.

How often did we ever have a player to cross to? Usually by the time more than one arrived the penalty area it was full.
The thing is, as far as I'm concerned, in recent years we've never had players who can dominate in the air - Wilf at his best and Danny Graham came close but both needed to be in space and have pin point accuracy and timing from the cross, very difficult even for the very best. We have done great things with less than great individuals because managers have worked out what succeeds for us - one up front, five in midfield, ball on the floor and crisp quick passing.
What perplexes me is how often a corner fails to clear the first man, is over hit or is too near the keeper, there really is no excuse not to hit your target whether that's a player or an area inside the box.
It is also noticeable that our taller players gain little when they leap in attack or defence.

If all this negativity and bullshit is when we are in the top half in 9th place i cant begin to fathom what it would be like if we were 2 points off relegation and certain to go down <laugh> this board would be on meltdown <ok>

The board Always goes into meltdown if we don't win for 3 or 4 games. Same thing happened earlier this season when we went 5 games without a win.

This job is massive but it would be massive for any manager and i doubt very much anyone would have done any better than monk has. There is one thing that has not gone to well however and that is the discipline side of things and that must improve as it is costing us games with players missing when we need them, Regardless how well or not gomis does against the saints we must find a quality striker and we must pay the going wage for his services and that wont be cheap. the best thing to do is to get one on loan with an option to buy because we could end up with two rubbish strikers on high wages if he is poor. You have to look at the position monk is in as he will only be allowed a budget and he has already had to scrap his bid for LB martin olsson because of his asking price so just think what a striker would cost...he needs to look for a loan player and pay his wages for the rest of the season and then decide to buy or not.....monk is working very hard but its difficult if the funds are not there...

I'm sorry Dai, but we just made £25 million off Bony. The funds are there, it's whether they decide to use it or not.

There must be a detour or perhaps I can send over some ducolax (draino of internal plumbing) and we can flush it out.

If you have not yet heard that money from the sale of bony has already been earmarked for other things and how the hell is it monks fault if he has been given a set budget. I wish he was allowed to spend bony's sale money but he cant and neither would any other manager if he was here...
