Looking through the Tatts HIT sale this week and two that fly off the page as horses picked up at a fair price;

HEISMAN from the doomed Olly Stevens experiment who surely hasn't yet reached full potential was picked up by George Baker Racing for 42,000

and

BREDEN a lightly raced 95 rated middle distance horse from the Gosden yard who has been picked up by that very good judge of horseflesh Paul Webber. Surely will soon be seen jumping a hurdle and could be a very useful recruit. 24,000 was parted with and that looks a steal.

I will be looking forward to seeing how these two individuals fare at their new barns!

Add 45 to the flat mark and they could be sitting on a very competitive handicap hurdler

Horse has had its problems though Bob as he has run only once in the last two years. They are taking a punt but a lot of horse for that money. Earlier in his career he beat Top Notch Tonto!

Lovely big horse, would be interesting over hurdles too, it will be really interesting to see how this one goes. The price looks a bargain to me.

The thing that had grabbed my eye about this sale had been the prospect of Nigel, the forum’s 138th favourite horse, going through the ring but he was withdrawn from the auction. From this fact you must conclude that either a private sale has gone through or that old boy Gosden has whispered in the owner’s ear, ‘I have a cunning plan’ and they therefore opted to keep him on their roster. Does this ‘cunning plan’ involve next terms Ebor, me wonders?!?

Just had a look through some of the purchases and the ones I highlighted as interesting and potentially good value were the sprinters Growl (to Richard Fahey) and Zanetto (to John Quinn) going for 38,000 gns and 50,00 gns respectively. You get the impression both have a huge handicap in them and could even be up to competing in minor Group events.

Meanwhile, High Secret being bought for 65,000 gns by Tom Malone was also noteworthy, in my book. A tremendous prospect for hurdling, methinks.
