I think that Situ will become an important player for us either at some point this season or if not the season after. He's a really talented young player and I disagree that he hasn't settled in. He was bought for the future not for last season (same as Donelly). He's a good arial presence as well!
I think players like Donnelly & Situ are part of a Championship building team that will re promote us should we stumble .... especially if we have a new training & academy ground ( hint hint )
Sorry, I diagree Cracker. Donelly was being looked at by "big" PL clubs like Everton, Liverpool etc. why would they be preparing for a season in the championship? I think we've seen potential in these young players and are developing them to play for us in the PL or if they don't quite make the cut we should still be able to make a profit on them.
The longer we stay up , the more I agree with you union . I do think that both are a year or two away from pushing for first team ... unless we drop & lose players . Then they will be starters in the Championship , & good ones too !
If things go tits up then hopefully they'll stay and start for us in the Premiership. But think it would be unfair to say they were bought just incase we get relegated.
Sorry union , I'm not saying they were bought for relegation but a plan must be in place within transfers . Can you see Donnelly or Situ playing a major part this season ?
Hard to say given we haven't seen them in the first team! Hopefully they'll both get a look-in when the pre-season friendlies come around.
To be honest basing on what I've seen on them in reserves and training etc. I don't think they'll feature heavily this season but maybe a few appearances off the bench gearing them up for a more prominent role next season. Or if we manage to get a mid table finish again then I could see them getting a few starts at the end of the season. It all depends on what Laudrup makes of them though.
